Cigar station?

Aslihan, on May 3, 2015 at 3:55 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

Hi my fiancé and I are having our wedding 9-23-16 at giorgios and are looking at cigar stations? We're on a tight budget ,does anyone know of any places I can just buy (good quality)cigars in bulk? I was thinking of just displaying them nicely by the bar or something, does this sound like a bad idea?thank u for the help ☺️

We are doing a cigar station as well. We plan on going to our local smoke shop and buying a nice box of cigars. We are thinking of spending $100. We ordered personalized match books too.

Do you really need them in "bulk"? A standard box has 25 cigars, and I can't imagine you would need more than two or three-- most people won't smoke, and even those that do shouldn't have more than one.

Also, check your venue's smoking regulations--- more than likely they won't permit smoking inside, and may not permit it directly outside, either.

I've never heard of a cigar station, I have seen a few weddings with cigar rollers who hand roll cigars for guests. I personally think it's a waste of money because only a small portion of your guests will actually be interested in cigars and like others have mentioned most likely there is no smoking inside the venue. I would invest your money into something that everyone can enjoy like a photo booth, caricature station, ice cream bar etc.

My venue has 3 smoking areas one out side and two closed off in side I am planning on doing a hookah lounge area as it will go with our theme and I'm not even a smoker lol

I"m with Briggitte....I've seen the stations at several weddings, but they seem to get lost in the shuffle since you can't really smoke anywhere around here any more, inside or directly outside.

I think it's a waste of money, personally.

@Aslihan, change your avatar so people see your post (there is lots of spam on this forum with the ring avatars). I think having a couple of boxes by the bar would be nice for those who are interested. Hopefully your venue has a smoking area outside.

We are doing it at my wedding. We bought 2 boxes of the 25 count from a local place and they were $50 each. There was some sort of "sale." I love the idea of it and it makes for some fun photos. The wedding is at a golf club, so we are doing a mini station on the patio. I wouldn't get too many since probably most of your guests won't partake, but it is a nice option for those that do!

Do you live somewhere that it's legal to smoke inside?

You'd hate to put up the money for this and have it be raining.
