Clean up crew!

Mari, on February 28, 2017 at 11:41 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Hi ladies! My fiancé and I just looked at a community center as our venue, and we loved it but we are weary of the fact that cleaning up is left for us to do. We wanted to hire a clean up crew but haven't found any as of right now, any recommendations???

One thing that I was thrilled about with my venue is that they have staff on hand to clean up at the end of the night!

I Googled "wedding clean up service" and some things seemed to pop up. Try there. You could also ask the venue if they have any companies people have used in the past.

I agree that asking the venue what they recommend is a good idea!

Whatever you do, do NOT ask your family and friends to clean up for you...we did this for both of my sisters' weddings and I am still bitter.

PP has good suggestions. Also (and this may be a UO)--I would have answered any sort of employment ad in college, because I was broke. If you know any trustworthy college students, that may be a place to look.

Thanks ladies! Yeah we definitely didn't want to ask family and friends, I've been to wedding where the bride and groom have asked their guests of that and I was not thrilled!

PPs are right! I also agree that you should post something either on Craigslist , thumbtack or another website that specializes in odd jobs. Anyone looking for a few extra bucks would love to help.

I looked into this briefly when I was considering a venue that didn't offer cleanup service. Try also searching for "special event cleanup" services in your area. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding that right wording to search for.

I'd ask the venue first, maybe try a temp agency like Labor Ready that rents out day labor, Merry Maids or ask your caterer. We used to work in these kind of venues all the time, and while we always made sure the kitchen was clean, rentals packed we always had a few people willing to stay and take down decorations, sweep, etc.

My DOC handles all that. Try to find an affordable DOC.

Check with your catering company. Our catering company and day of coordinator are staying an extra hour to do all of the clean up.
