Cleaning Wedding Dress Before the Wedding

So I live overseas and am going stateside for the wedding. I had to put my dress in a vacuum seal bag to fit it in my suit case... very depressing I know, but I had no other options. Sooooo, would dry cleaning be the best option to clean and un-wrinkle the dress or is there a different/better way to do this?

    I would not have it dry cleaned until after the wedding! I would have someone steam it to get the wrinkles out. But I have heard so many people say their dresses just weren't the same after dry cleaning.

    Where did you buy the dress? Did you buy it stateside? If it's David's Bridal, they'll steam it for free. If not, check dress shops local to the area and see if someone can steam your gown for you.
