Clip In Hair Extensions

LaLa, on June 20, 2019 at 8:46 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6

I'm thinking I want to add some volume for the wedding day.

1. If I wanted to get some hair extensions where would I buy them?

2. Is there a really good brand I should consider?

3. Are there different kinds?

4. Do I need to match the color in person, or can I order them online?

5. If I'm doing a half up hairstyle will they show?

I just bought some this past weekend for my engagement shoot and the wedding. I paid $200 for human hair clip ins (Beyond the Beauty, Shilo extensions). The person who sold them to me matched my hair, but I know many people have to get their extensions dyed to match their hair the best (I got lucky and mine matched pretty perfectly). I was a little concerned about the clips showing in the front since I have very fine hair, but they were very well hidden. I think it's all about strategic placement! My head was a little sore at the end of the day from having them in, but nothing major.

I’ve had a few sets of clip ins. If you do it right you can do it without being seen and be beautiful. You definitely want 100% human hair or else you can’t really curl or straighten them, and if you order them offline and they don’t match you can dye them. Ive always ordered mine offline with no issues though(: it’s worth the price to go a little expensive. What hairstyle are you doing?

I ordered Bellami extensions. I checked with my stylist and she helped me pick the best shade and length for me. Mine blended in with my hair super well. Just holding them up next to my hair, I thought they looked a bit too light, but they blended in great. I didn’t use all of mine, but I was glad to add in some for extra length and thickness.

I got clip ins and love them! I have been wearing them to parties and weddings to get used to them.

    1. I got mine at Sally's Beauty Supply. Nice quality and on the cheaper side.

    2. Get real hair/human hair so when you apply heat to it it wont burn off. I bought Euronext 18 inch ones.

    3. Different kinds as in what? They have different colors, straight of curly and fake hair and real hair ones.

    4. You can order online but once you have them they cannot be returned. I would at least go in and have someone match you to a color. If you buy the real hair ones though you can always take them to be colored.

    5. If they are place right they shouldn't show.

    1. If I wanted to get some hair extensions where would I buy them? I spent $260 and bought Milk & Blush. I'm SUPER happy with them. I bought them online.

    2. Is there a really good brand I should consider? Milk & Blush!

    3. Are there different kinds? I'd make sure you get real human hair, so it can be curled.

    4. Do I need to match the color in person, or can I order them online? I sent Milk & Blush pictures of my hair and they matched it.

    5. If I'm doing a half up hairstyle will they show? Mine don't.

Here is a link to my bachelorette party, the first picture of me in the white dress I have them in. https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/bab-palm-springs-edition-pic-heavy/2632dd8cdc9e500d.html

I will actually be using hair extensions myself for a full look. I'm doing half up and half down and honestly it really made a difference and completed the look.

    1. I bought mine from a local beauty supply store. I tried originally going to Sally's but boy were there expensive! I would say look up local beauty supply stores near you because it'll be cheaper.

    2. I don't know much about brands but my hair stylist told me to only grab real human hair. She said it's more of a natural look and blends in well with your real hair.

    3. There are different kinds but that's why you want to make sure the packaging says real human hair.

    4. For me personally, I thought it would be hard to purchase online because I wanted to able to actually see it in person. I think if your hair is all one color it might be easier but I have highlights so I wanted to make sure that match was perfect. I think it's just up to you but I would say in person is best.

    5. I did my hair trial with a half up and half down look and it blended perfectly! I honestly couldn't even tell it wasn't my hair but my head did feel a little heavier lol.
