Closed toe shoe

Katie, on March 29, 2018 at 10:39 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 16
So I had ordered a pair of shoes online, came in yesterday and the color was completely off from what was shown on the website. So back to square one! I came across these closed toe sparkly Betsey Johnson heels while searching online but I’m wondering if it’s appropriate to wear a closed toe heel shoe with a wedding gown? I’ve attached a stock photo of my gown and also of the shoe. Looking for constructive criticism, TIA!

Those shoes are so cute! I've never heard of any rules about closed toed vs. open toed shoes with wedding dresses, so I don't think you need to worry about whether it's appropriate!
    Btw, love your dress.

    Why would it be inappropriate?

Those are gorgeous! I also have never heard of rules in regards to shoes. I mean some wear chucks or flip flops! You can rock closed toed if that it completes your dress!

Maybe inappropriate is is the wrong word. Many years ago a lady made a comment to me that if your arms are exposed with what your wearing then your toes should be exposed and for some reason it’s always stuck with me. I’m probably overthinking this honestly. 🙃

I think you are good to wear closed toe shoes. Honestly nobody but you will know if you are or not. So it's not a huge deal imo.

I’m wearing closed toe pumps as my wedding shoes. I think many women choose closed toe.

Ok, I can see where this is conflicting. For your specific style dress, I would recommend open-toed. It would look so elegant. The closed one seems constricting, as a look. The open toed would coincide better with the sleeveless look. It would look more "sleek".

That may be the strangest fashion "rule" I've ever heard. If you are comfortable in the shoes and like the way the look with your dress then roll with it. Remember your shoes really aren't something that stands out

Those shoes are gorgeous and perfect for your dress. There is no such "arms and toes" rule or guideline.

Many women who wear ill fitting peep or open toe shoes would look and feel much better in a closed toe.

For years I never wore open toed shoes (I don't like feet), but recently I wear them based on the season. I've never heard of the arm thing. I think you can wear whatever you want!

That is so strange. I rarely wear open toed shoes (unless they are flat sandals) because they always pinch my big toe. It’s been so long that I don’t think I’d be comfortable in them at all.

I think those Betsey Johnson shoes are awesome!

I personally don’t like my feet so much so I also got closed toe shoes, these are mine! No one will see them, wear what you like!

Here are my wedding shoes and they are closed toe. I think it's up to you and what you want to wear. I love those shoes and think the color is great for your dress!

Love those shoes! They were an option to me too but I chose another closed toe pair because they were blue 😍 It's not inappropriate at all, even if your having a summer wedding! Wear whatever you like. People are even wearing sneakers with their gowns!

I don’t see why it would matter. Wear what you feel best in. My shoes are closed toe.

Love the shoes! Wear whatever you want for your wedding. I am also wearing ankle strap closed toed heels.
