Cocktail Hour Help

Katie, on July 7, 2023 at 11:09 PM Posted in Planning 0 6
So I have a dumb question for everyone. What're you doing for cocktail hour and do I have to make all those appitizers?😂 Because our catering doesn't do appitizers.

Many things depending (how many guests, are you wanting served appetizers, what's the flow and layout of the room), I would lean towards setting out charcuterie boards. East coast: Wegmans has some fabulous ones. Check the grocery stores in your area for what they have to offer. You're the bride. Simplify where you can. You certainly don't want to be worried about cooking anything the morning/day of your wedding.

Your caterer doesn't do cocktail hour foods? Crazy.

I know locally there are quite a few charcuterie people/vendors. As in you pay them and they set up the charcuterie. Maybe you can find someone like that.
You can always see about finding a different caterer to drop off cocktail hour snacks.
Or what Rhonda said and Buy the trays pre assembled. Fruit tray, mini sandwiches, veggies, chips and salsa, store brought charcuterie.
I would not recommend working at all on your wedding day. It's going to go by in such a blur.

I think because we're doing BBQ type foods maybe that might not be included? I'm not sure but it's weird and stressful haha. I was thinking about getting another Caterer but I feel like that's just more money. Maybe I will buy pre assembled assortments because that's a great idea!!

You could reach out to them and ask what past weddings have done and if there's anyone they work with who won't be too much more.

Maybe a Costco or Sam's club would work?

Yeah, I'll have to research around and see. Maybe I'll call the catering company we had in mind to double check ad well. Thank you so much for your help!
