Cocktail hour music

Rosa, on October 26, 2019 at 10:11 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 4
Hello everyone! I’m having a destination wedding in Cabo at an all inclusive hotel. My package comes with a solist for ceremony (guitarist, saxophone or violinist) and I’m having a DJ for reception . I was considering mariachi for cocktail hour but I just got the price and it’s $900 Dlls for45 min. I don’t know if that’s worth it I’m contemplating either having DJ play an extra hour or just doing our own music from our phone.

Any thoughts???

I would just have the DJ do another hour, this is what I'm doing. I was thinking as well of having a soloist or small band for the cocktail hour but it's pricey and it's not a necessary added expensive. For me, the music should be more background/ambient as people will be mingling.

Dang it, a Mariarchi band would be awesome. I would hire the DJ an extra hour.

    Hey Rosa!

Have you inquired at your venue how much hiring the DJ would be for another hour?

If you decided to go with playing your own music through the sound system, are you sure that they have the equipment to hand to set it up? Will you have to bring anything yourself?

Hi there! Yes I talked to my DJ and he is playing during cocktail hour. ( I just left a party and realized how uncomfortable it is to talk over loud mariachi music!!!) lol

i leave in San Diego and I’m going over to Tijuana to send all my centerpieces and frozen rose petals via UPS a few days before I get to Cabo .
