Cocktail hour table decor

Katie, on May 4, 2018 at 1:39 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 25
Just curious to see what others are doing for centerpieces for they’re cocktail
hour tables. I’m torn between doing a simple floral display or candles as I’ve seen both done at weddings. I’ve also been to weddings where they didn’t put anything besides tableclothes and just kept it super simple!

Any option to decorate would be lovely! It would be less expensive to purchase small candles or tea lights, but even with simple table drapes alone, the cocktail hour space can be configured to look quite lovely.

I always liked candles for cocktail hour. I don't know... something about it sets the aura and tone of the night. I would mostly expect to see flowers during the reception.

Agreed! I’ve even seen tables set up with just 3 simple votive candles which adds just the right amount of simple elegance.

We are going super lowkey for cocktail hour. We don't have any floral planned for cocktail hour except for some greenery that will sort of "tie" the tablecloths together like this:

I'm having a nice tablecloth, a picture in a frame and a couple votives on each cocktail table

I don't think I've ever seen anything on a cocktail hour table other than candles, if anything. Cocktail tables and highboys are small and people need the room to put their food and drinks down, and sometimes their purses. Check with your venue to see what they provide. My venue provided the tablecloths, all the candles and the mirrored disc they sat on in the picture.

Since I’m having my ceremony and reception at the same place I’m having my wedding coordinator take the lanterns I will have lining the aisles ( they will have flowers in thema nd on the top ) and having her repurpose them for cocktail hour .. saves $$ and they get more use then just our short ceremony

This is a super cute idea. May even do this myself, as we haven't decided on cocktail hour decor.

I'm not decorating ours at all, just tablecloths since it's outside. But I'll have some cute love quote signs & pictures of us around the area too.

We had very simple, small floral arrangements and ivory linens with a mix of high and low tables.

Okay so I just found these assorted candles on Potterybarn.com which go with our gold, white & blush scheme perfectly. So I think I’m going to use these along with either white or blush tableclothes and tie the underneath with greenery as mentioned above.

Our coordinator did mention that we will have high and low tables as well. Smiley smile I like this as not everyone likes to either stand or sit.

My favorite cocktail hour decor at a wedding I attended, was pictures of the bride and groom through the years. We didn't all know them during the same time periods, so they were a great conversation starter.
