Cocktail hour tables

Amy, on September 4, 2017 at 9:22 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

What did you all do for your cocktail hour tables? We're trying to figure out what we want to do for centerpieces for them. Did you do the same thing as your reception (if you did flowers at a smaller scale). Right now we're thinking of maybe doing cute lanterns on them with a candle. Is that enough?

Any suggestions is appreciated! Attached are pictures of the reception space and cocktail hour space to gage the decorations. We're doing more of a "rustic romantic" theme (if that's even a theme) - lots of white and blush flowers with greenery, wood tones (wood centerpiece boxes, wood signs, wood cake stand etc).

We are skipping the centerpieces on the cocktail tables and going w a bit of a fancier/textured linen.

We are using buckets of babies breath - moving it from the ceremony aisles to the cocktail tables. Everything is outdoors and next to each other, so...

We're going to keep it simple with one of these on each table.

I hadn't even thought of centerpieces for cocktail tables. Probably something very simple like a candle or votives.

I'm not doing anything on our cocktail tables, but ours are also light up LED tables. Definitely go simple unless you have the budget and desire to put flowers on each table. I think linens themselves are fine since people will want the space for plates and drinks.

I think hightop tables with minimal decorations would be beautiful. Perhaps a small glass vase with a floating flower, a lit candle, or even nice linen on top of the hightops with a bow to tie it in. Search pinterest for "centerpiece cocktail hour" and there are many beautiful decoration ideas!

Oh crap, I never even thought about putting a centerpiece on the cocktail tables. Ugh! I'd keep it small and simple, they are only going to be at the table for an hour or so and they are going to need the space for drinks, plates, etc.

I hadn't thought of this either. Welp...there goes more money! lol. I've honestly never noticed the cocktail tables at any wedding I've attended, but I have noticed the lack of space to put plates etc. For that reason I will probably go simple. Boy, this forum is a life saver.
