Color of boutonnière/bouquet stems

Erin Wood, on January 16, 2017 at 4:33 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 13

What color ribbon are you using to wrap the stems for your boutonnière/ bouquet? It didn't even occur to me until our florist appointment yesterday. FH likes gray but the guys are wearing black suits. So many tough decisions. HaHa!

I think it depends on your wedding colors. Mine are navy, blush and gold so I wrapped mine in a gold ribbon. I hope that helps!

DH didn't have a ribbon, his was just wrapped up with floral tape. I had an ivory ribbon, but I didn't choose it.

I think the grey would look nice!

We are doing navy and ivory with copper accents. Guys are wearing black tuxes with navy ties, FH and my Dad are just wearing black tuxes. BM's are in navy.

I'll probably do silver or white, depending on what looks best on the guys black suits

It matters, Erin. Your bouquet will be photographed countless times on your wedding day. Photos including the couple and their wedding party will be numerous. You do want everything to coordinate. Select a color from your wedding colors and wrap the stems in those colors. You could always go the easy route -- your attendants' pieces are wrapped in white (or a color that matches your gown), and your bouquet is wrapped in the color of the BMs gowns. Crisp, clean, easy, and great for photos.

@thecenterpiece- I think I want mine to be white but what color for FH? White as well? I don't like black on black that much. Is green bad? I like the natural look actually. I already told the photographer not to do too many posed pictures of us with BP or family. We are doing mostly candid. There wont be a bunch of bouquet pictures but I still want it to look nice during the ceremony.

Mine is going to be white or ivory, I forget what the florist said. Basically, something neutral that won't draw attention.

I think I'll probably do white for mine, and my florist is taking hems from the girl's dresses to wrap theirs! Not sure about the guys bouts though, I may just have them have a single rose/ thistle with no wrap

I am planning champagne colored trim. Same as my dress, same as the ties on my guys. So exciting! Best wishes.
