Colorado Brides/honeymoon

Courtney, on July 31, 2019 at 1:52 PM Posted in Colorado Planning 1 3
I posted earlier about where to take a honeymoon in the U.S. I wanted to go somewhere that neither me or FH have been before.

I've been researching some places in Colorado and I was going to ask your opinions. I started out with Colorado Springs, then Glenwood Springs, and now I'm looking at Estes Park Colorado. I have found an adults only resort/hotel in Estes Park called Stonebrook or something like that. It looks really nice with suites on the river and jacuzzi tubs in the room. Is this a good place to honeymoon?

What is there to do in Colorado? My dad went several years ago and my sister lived up there for a few months with her husband for work. They've both said it is so beautiful! We are going in June. How is the weather up there during that time?

June has beautiful weather for outdoor activities. Estes is literally at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park with hundreds of beautiful hikes, picnic spots, wildlife viewing, scenic drives and overlooks, etc! Estes is a fun town, but we tend to visit with the kids so participate in somewhat different activities 😉. The Stanley Hotel is a fun place to visit and have dinner, it’s a gorgeous hotel, they also do ghost tours if that’s your kind of think. The Estes tramway should be open to take you up prospectors peak which gives you a stunning vantage of the town and landscape. There are generally lots of festivals throughout the summer, so you can check Estes parks website to see what will be going on. The Big Thompson Canyon is one of our favorite drives, and the river provides opportunity for rafting and fishing. You’re also close enough to Denver if you wanted to spend a day in the city.
I’m biased being a native, but I don’t think you can go wrong with any CO location. Feel free to message me if you have any other questions.

Estes Park is pretty. There is a ton of hiking, and you'll probably see elk in Rocky Mountain National Park. It's a small mountain town, so there aren't a ton of stores or restaurants, but there is plenty to do outdoors. The Stanley is a beautiful hotel up there too!

If you are willing to go a little off the beaten path, Telluride is amazing! There’s so much to do there if you like the outdoors and it’s absolutely beautiful. Anywhere in the mountains gets chilly in the evenings but you should have pretty nice weather in the 70s most places in June.
