I'd like some suggestions on towns, hotels/resorts, weather, things to do! Anything! Neither of us have been to Colorado before, so I'd love to hear some thoughts from people who vacation there or live there. Thanks Smiley smile

IMO Telluride is more of a get there stay there destination while Breckenridge is on I-70 and your able to pass exits (driving from Denver going to breck) Loveland, winter park, Copper and past Breckenridge down I-70 is Vail and eventually Aspen! Telluride is not on I-70 and is more of a haul to get specifically there is that makes sense. I personally love telluride! They have the new town and old town on separate sides of the mountains and you can take to gondola to get across or drive. It's one of my top Colorado towns and I've been everywhere in Colorado! I lived there and went to college there! telluride and steamboat are my favorites!

Thanks again girls! My fiancé is still on the fence between Jamaica and Colorado, but all of this inside info is convincing him Smiley winking But in all seriousness, you guys are so helpful. Like I said, I'd no clue of the travel issues, and so many times we overlook those things when going somewhere new.

Speaking of travel, this might be a dumb question but I've never flown before (I'm TERRIFIED), but I've agreed to fly for our honeymoon... So when we land, do some hotels have transportation to and from airport? Can we rent a car at the airport? And CO Bride mentioned a requirement of chains or 4/all wheel drive, those cars are rentable too right?

There are a billion places to rent cars from, especially at the Denver airport. There are shuttles that take you from the airport to the rental car company "hub". Just follow the signs once you get off the plane. Idk about renting chains, etc. though. You also may want to book a rental car ahead of time. Expedia or priceline usually have good deals. It'll be easier this way bc you won't be shuttling from rental car place to rental car place trying to rent what you need. I-70 is right by the airport, so it's it's basically a straight shot towards the mountains, which is convenient.

Also, OP- Dunbar's does a "Burger Tuesdays" where they make a crazy awesome burger as their special. In case your love of burgers goes that far Smiley smile some examples: a brat burger, a beer-cheese cheeseburger with pretzel bun, green chili bacon burger,.. Just to name a few! I'm getting hungry lol
