Colorful or neutral florals?

Aubrie, on June 24, 2022 at 1:16 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 20
Help! I’m torn between neutral or colorful florals for the wedding. I want everything else neutral with gold accents, and our venue is a lush green garden. If it was your wedding… whimsical wildflowers, or classy neutral florals?! Colorful or neutral florals? 1

I see why you’re torn. I really like the colorful flowers, but it’s just something about the neutral flowers that stick out more to me.

Thank you for your opinion! I think they're both gorgeous, just very different vibes. Still conflicted! 😅

Both of your options are gorgeous, I thought I d pick the colorful one but I m actually loving the neutral photos you posted. Are you having bridesmaid, what color(s) are the dresses?

No bridesmaids, but we will have a unique processional. Parents and siblings will walk down before us like bridesmaid/groomsmen would. Everyone will be coordinating, but not identical. Think beige, blush, white (flower girls), black/grey. 😊

You could also do blend of the two, beautiful neutral with a pop of one color like this

Sounds beautiful! I like both options ALOT but my vote is the neutral ones you really cannot go wrong with either choice though. So pretty! Happy planning!

I love the colorful ones! To me, they are just as classy as the neutral ones, and the colors really pop and will liven up the space. Both sets of pictures are really nice though so you can't go wrong

I love them too! I think that the green gardens and neutral decor would be such a nice backdrop for the florals to really shine.

That's what I was thinking too, especially with lush greenery and neutral decor! It would make for such a nice backdrop for the florals. I love the neutral floral option, I just don't want the wedding to be one big sea of white, blush, and beige 😅

Oh, then you can easily add more gold accents to add depth. You could add gold chairs and/or tablecloths, napkins, vases, etc. I think you should not worry with a neutral base as you will eventually put your own spin on things. If you and your future spouse are still on the fence, i would suggest a date day at the local botanical garden and see what draws you in. June now is perfect to see what's in bloom for June 2023 wedding. Or you can just look at the clothes in your closet to see you're preference. You can't go wrong either way. Best wishes!

We did blue and orange. I think your neutrals look nicer because they are mostly roses. Your colors have some more puffy filler flowers

    I LOVE Rosebud's suggestions

I think a lot of this depends on your personalities. The neutrals feel very classic and safe. The bright wildflowers feel more youthful and fun.
Personally, I would go with the colorful flowers. While the neutral is a classic and safe choice, to me it also feel boring and uninspired. I would fear when I looked back at my wedding photos, there would be nothing interesting that stood out; nothing that captured my personality.

Personally, I vote colorful florals. Even just a pop of color within a bouquet of neutrals would really stand out nicely. Michelle's idea of visiting a botanical garden and seeing which florals you gravitate towards is a great idea!

If you’re on a tighter budget, I would recommend wildflowers as they’re generally easier and cheaper for florists to acquire.
If you aren’t worried as much about budget, the neutrals are speaking WOW to me. That’s my vote 😁

    I would say colorful!
Neutral is very "tried and true":
-Multiple photo shoots and pinterest boards have them.
-Neutral works when the venue is very ornate and grand, and neutral flowers add a delicate touch.

Wildflowers come in a variety of colors and allow you to showcase personality.

    Something to consider:
-Be mindful how long your flowers will be in direct sunlight. Some flowers (neutral or wild) may not hold up the best once picked.

I would suggest speaking to your florist and seeing what seasonal flowers are available in the colors that you want. Do mention how long they will be in direct sunlight or indoors. This gives them a better idea of what might work best.
