Comfortable Designer Heels

I_CRE8, on April 2, 2016 at 11:22 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 24

I really want a killer pair of heels for the wedding that I can wear again. I love the idea of adding a pop of color with the shoes, but am not super into pointy toes (i.e.: Jimmy Choo). My budget is $1000, so I want them to not only look good, but be comfortable, as well! Any favorite designers that for that bill?

How do you feel about Louboutins?

Go try some on. Theres no way for anyone else to tell you what will be comfortable on YOUR foot.

Im glad you got to share that you have a $1000 shoe budget though. Lucky you!

I tried a bunch of pairs and ended up going with Manolo Blahnik "Cassia." Those and the "Sedaraby" were the most comfortable and also the most classic of the pairs I tried. I also loved the Jimmy Choo "Lang" sandal but would not have been able to wear them all day. Ditto the Christian Louboutin 100mm "Pigalle", which killed me because the glitter ones are so amazing! It was hard to send them back because I adored them, but knew the pain would ruin my wedding day. Jimmy Choo also has a few pairs of glittery pumps, but I didn't love the way they looked on my feet.

So, in short- try Manolos! They seem to be a bit more practically designed than Jimmy Choo or Louboutin!

I know Louboutins are beautiful, but I hear they are actually not very comfortable! And I will not be able to go try on shoes because the city I live in doesn't have great options (Saks would be my first choice), so I will have to order them. And thanks, @twostep127, for the advice--I've definitely been looking at some Manolos!

You're going to spend a grand on shoes without trying them on?!

@Kristy I think she's intending to buy a bunch of pairs and return the ones that don't work. That's what I did- Nordstrom has a fantastic return policy.

My friend swears by Louboutin "pigalle" she says they actually are very comfortable - as she has a narrow foot. So it might depend on that. YSL has some nice shoes in my opinion.

@MsKellie I've heard some other people say that too. My feet aren't wide but they're also not narrow, and the toe box was outrageously cramped for me. They're so just so high with such a slender heel that I can't imagine them being good to wear all day, even if some people do find them comfortable for shorter occasions. Forgot about Saint Laurent! The "Kate" sandal is really pretty and minimalistic.

Guess I'm outing my other time-wasting Internet activity after WW, haha!

Louboutins are horribly uncomfortable. Jimmy Choo's not much better in the comfort department but doable for a certain time. YSL depends on the material.

You can also try Stuart Weitzman (more conservative and heels typically less high) and Guiseppe Zanotti (kinda crazy shoe designs).

Check out the Kate spade shoe in izzie heels style. For a pop of color, comfort, and a classy style. They are 358.00 so way below your budget.

@Sally the Izzie shoes are so pretty! A friend of mine wore them for her wedding. I love the turquoise color they come in, too. Agree that Kate Spade are super comfy...I'm wearing a pair of pumps I already had (Juliette, the glittery low pumps with a bow) for our choreographed father daughter dance since I needed something lower.

    @Chrissy, here are mine!

How about Jimmy Choo Alex? It's a round toe. They're actually very comfortable.

Jimmy choo are the most comfortable according to many celebrities and Louboutins are the WORST.

There are several non pointy jimmy choos....
