Coming out to anything but here comes the bride.

Idk guys, I'm not about walking out to here comes the bride... is that weird? If not, how long should my song be at least.

I think most brides nowadays come out to all sorts of different songs. I've never been to a wedding where to bride came out to "Here Comes the Bride." I have seen/known more brides come out to Canon in D. I had a Catholic wedding so I walked out to the hymn "For the Beauty of the Earth." A lot of people on here choose secular music and/or a song significant to the relationship for their Processional and there's nothing wrong with that. You can really pick whatever you want to walk down the aisle to!

I'm not either! I'm having the organist play the Prince of Denmark's March. I think timing depends on how long your aisle is. The aisle at the church we are getting married in is 100ft, so very dramatic.

Most churches don't allow Wagner's Wedding March to be played so I've never heard it in a wedding. Play what you want, and if you're getting married in a church, what they will allow.

Church wedding here, and I thought Canon in D, while lovely, is overdone. I'm entering to O God Beyond All Praising, the melody for which comes from Jupiter in Holst's suite, The Planets.

I hired a harpist. She's doing Zelda songs for the prelude and the bridal party and stolen for my walk. It sounds cute on the harp.

I don't think I've been to a wedding in the recent past where the bride did walk down to that song. I plan on walking down to Me & You by Kenny Chesney.

Same here! There will be no here comes the bride, or Canon etc. I plan on thinking of a song (should've already had this done!) That I love and that would sound great on a guitar. Do what you want, it's your day!

I've decided on "How Long Will I Love You (Instrumental)" by Khan Flo Mah. It actually has a small sampling of "Here Comes the Bride" at the very beginning, but then goes straight into the song. I really like the song (Ellie Goulding does a cover of it), and felt like it was a nice compromise with the couple seconds of "Here Comes the Bride".

I actually like the idea of here comes the bride... I like the simple and traditional value it adds.

But I think I am the strange one for wanting that!
