Commitment Ceremony

Anastesia, on January 26, 2022 at 12:18 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 3
Hi. Does anyone have any experience with commitment ceremonies? My partner and I agreed that we both didn’t want to be legally married (for our reasons) but would love to have a commitment ceremony to celebrate among our friends and families. We have two beautiful children and have been to get her for 10 years now. I’ve done some research online and read that commitment ceremonies are similar to weddings but without ab officiant legally marrying the couple. Please share your thoughts and experiences. Thanks.

I think with a commitment ceremony you have it easier then a legal ceremony. You can still plan as if you were having a actual full wedding (vendors, caterers, etc.), you just wont need a marriage license or an officiant. You can honestly have someone close to you and your partner oversee...guide? (idk what to call it) your promises to each other or you both can make the promises, have a reading, have the kids say something, or whatever else you want do it.

Hope this helps & Happy Planning

There are no rules for commitment ceremonies (since there is no legal component), so you should feel free to plan it according to your own wishes and tastes.
