Common processional order?

C, on August 6, 2021 at 3:42 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 7

What is everyone doing for the order everyone walks in for the processional? This is a "non-religious" ceremony, so not following any strict traditions. I'm trying to fit in these folks:

Officiant

Groom

Bride

Father of the Bride

Mother of the Bride

Mother of the Groom

Father of the Groom

(Possibly grandmother of the groom if she feels up to it)

Best man

3 additional groomsmen

Maid of honor

5 additional bridesmaids

We got married two years ago and this is how ours went.

Officiant and groom entered from the front so they didn't process
Mother-in-law escorted by Husband's brother then brother looped back around because he was also a groomsman
My mom escorted by my brother then he looped back around because he was also a bridesman
    Bridesmaids/Brideman paired Groomsmen/Groomswoman
Maid of honor paired with Best Man
Ring bearer and his oldet brother who was also an usher
    Flower girls
    Me (bride) with my dad

Every wedding I have attended, whether religious or not has had a groomsman escort in the mom of the bride and one for the mom of the groom.
The groom enters from the side front with the officiant and all groomsmen following behind him.

Bridesmaids enter. Maid of honor last. Then flowergirl and ring bearer (optional). Then bride enters with her escort.

We are doing it in this order:

Mother of bride, mother of groom will be escorted separately by a groomsman

Officiant (we want him to walk down the aisle because he is my cousin & special to me)

Groom (he deserves a special walk down the aisle moment, too) Smiley love

    Best Man

    Groomsmen (individually)

    Bridesmaids (individually)

    Maid of Honor

    Ring Bearers

    Flower Girls

    Bride & Father of Bride

All the weddings I've been to are Jewish, and usually go like this:

    1. Officiant
    2. Grandparents, if present (they can be escorted by a groomsman or other family member)
    3. Groom with his parents (lots of flexibility here; they can go earlier, right after the officiant, or much later, before the bride)
    4. Groomsmen and bridesmaids (they can go by themselves or pair up)
    5. Ring bearers/flower girls (if you have them)
    6. Bride with her parents
Even if you're not Jewish, this can give you some ideas about how other non-mainstream groups do it. I also recommend this article, which gives a ton of options:

We were just talking about this last night lol.

    I think we're leaning towards:

    Officiant

    Grooms parents

    MOB (Escorted by my brother)

    Groom

    Groomsmen

Best Men (holding hands as requested by FH)

    Bridesmaids

    MOH

    Ringer bearer

    Me and my Dad

I've never seen parents or grandparents in a processional (aside from the father of the bride escorting her).

We are doing groom and officiant sneak in from the side

    Bridesmaids and groomsmen

    Me and dad
