Hello. I have a question about spreading the word about HoneyFund. I have decided to go with HF for my wedding registry however, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how they communicated HF to their guests? Did you include info on your HF registry in your wedding invitations (I heard this is tacky but, hey, if it works!) Did anyone use a wedding day display where people can drop in their cards of money/checks in? I have HF on my wedding website but I was just wondering if there was anything else I can do to get the word out, especially for guests who aren't as computer savvy. Thanks!

I love how even Honeyfund's website says DO NOT PUT IT ON THE INVITATION!

As others have suggested, I would just leave it on your website and use word of mouth. If you want, you can put your wedding website on your invitations, and that way it will generate more traffic to the place that your guests can see it. Those guest who want to give you money but not computer savvy will probably not be gifting you via HF anyway, they will put cash or check in a card.

I just found out that my FSIL/FBIL are doing this...

They can't afford to pay their electric bill due to poor budget skills and have her car nearly repossessed every few months, live rent free, having their entire wedding paid for anyway, but dammit they deserve a nice vacation and this is the only chance they have!

You said in a previous post that you "want your guests comfortable, but to an extent"..... yet you're ok with asking them to pay for the event in first place?

Don't put anything about any kind of registry on your invite. That's a big no. If you want to do a honeyfund knock yourself out. They are no ruder than a regular registry - however, I don't understand the point of them. The online ones take a % of your gifts - so it just doesn't make sense. Just let it be known word of mouth that you don't have a registry and people will gift money. Then you can use it to pay for whatever the hell you like and if you want to use it to pay for your honeymoon then go for it.

Nicole, my FSIL is doing this too, but almost the opposite. They have PLENTY of $$$ and go on international, luxury trips all the time.

    My eyes hurt from rolling.

Just mention it on your website and that's it. A honeyfund registry doesn't need any special/different treatment than any other registry.

Christine, my favorite part about the poems link is that the HF CEO is like "Worried that your tacky idea is tacky? No worries! Here's some poems."

ETA: Where's OP? She should have called us bitches by now.

The poems are all written by 3rd graders, and people should be ashamed. Also, can we let the AABB rhyme go? I thought after elementary school you had to learn something different.

Just mention it on your wedding website or by word of mouth. As for the actual wedding just have a card box. I can't stand when people ask a specific question about "how" to do something not if they "should" do something and people give their opinions. She's doing it. Get over it.
