Hi, we are doing compostable bamboo plates as our wedding for easy clean up. Our caterer is just manning the buffet and providing food but not providing staff. We wrote in the bottom of our menus “Please Help compost your plates” we are hoping some people will catch in that we don’t have staff collecting plate and are hoping they will throw their plates away. Our family and friends now this so hopefully other guests will catch on.... do you think if you want to a wedding you would catch on or will this be confusing for guests? Have you ever been to a wedding like this? Thanks!

To me it sounds pretty simple and I would know to throw away my plate, but im also the type of person who to clean up after themself at a restaurant (I wipe any food off of the table and neatly stack plates).

Hi Tiffany!
I love this idea I agree, knowing your crowd will help & if you leave a note like this, I think everyone will get the idea. Especially if some family and friends can politely lead the way.
Do you have any other eco-friendly ideas in addition to this, planned so far?

This is great! I think adding a note is a good idea. Most people will get it, but the reminder can't hurt. Where did you get your plates? We're using real china for dinner but looking for compostable options for appetizers and cake. Thanks!

Thanks Junelle! I purchased our plates from https://www.webstaurantstore.com/ the shipping is a little expensive, but they are a good option for bulk orders!
