Confession time: have you ever actually re-worn a bridesmaid dress?

Kelly, on December 14, 2018 at 10:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 50

With the style of dresses changing over the years, it’s now a lot easier to re-wear a bridesmaid dress to another event! But let’s get real, have you ever actually re-worn a bridesmaid dress? Or does it just sit in your closet?

Nope, they sit in my closet. Ill hold on to them in hopes that I have a child that likes to play dress up and can use it for that. I used to have my moms bridesmaid dress from my aunts wedding in my dress up trunk. I loved it!

I’ve never worn one at all but I will next month. It’s a long black dress and I’m a violinist so I’m planning on wearing it for photos and maybe fancy gigs

Heck no, I was only a bridesmaid once, but I really didn't love the dress the bride picked and I didn't have a say in it. I will definitely be trying to re-sell it or donate it or something. I'll never wear it again, and it's from Davids Bridal so I'd hate to wear it to a wedding and the bridesmaids be in the same one!

Nope! I’ve been in two weddings and one was a very traditional David’s Bridal BM dress so it would definitely look awkward if I wore it to another event. We rented dresses for the other one but sometimes I wish I purchased it because the style was very flattering and not too formal so I probably could have put that one to use!

Yes, actually! I have a midnight blue one - changed the skirt length from full to knee length and now it's actually my "go-to" wedding guest dress! It's this one in the color Marine: https://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_long-mesh-dress-with-cowl-back-detail-f15933_all-bridesmaid-dresses

Yes!! I've gotten to wear most of my formal dresses more than once. I wore a BM dress to prom, and a homecoming dress as a BM dress. As a guest to a fancy wedding I wore my BM dress from a casual wedding, and I'm thinking about wearing the last BM dress I had to buy for either my bridal shower or rehearsal dinner.

Multiple times, but in context, these were all family weddings so I never really paid for my dress. I used them for my junior prom, a black and white ball, and even reused my 18th birthday entourage’s dresses for my cousin’s bridesmaids (which I ended up wearing lol)

I'm hoping my cousin rewears hers! I told her to buy a dress she would wear again. I told her as long as it's purple I didn't care what it looked like. I know she has really good taste so it wouldn't be something crazy lol. I've never personally been a bridesmaid though

The only wedding I’ve been in was my sister’s wedding. The bridesmaids were allowed to purchase their own style of dress. She chose to do black bridesmaid dresses so we could all re wear them, and I did many times in high school until I outgrew it. I loved my dress, partially because I picked it out

3 of 4 are them are in mine are in my closet... One of them the boning rusted WHILE I WAS WEARING IT (??), so the inside is stained with BROWN/RED RUST, so I couldn't even donate it!!! I have 2 of the exact same dress from Davids Bridal, but in different colors! (same year or maybe a year apart -- super disappointing) The 4th one I have no idea what happened to it. My sister provided it, so I think she took it back.

I have 3 and ive reworn them all!
One is my go to little black dress, for funerals mostly.
One is bright pink, I wore it to dinner while on a cruise.
The last is also black but fun and I’ve worn it to another wedding.
My girls got pretty long navy dresses that i hope they can wear again 😊

The 3 weddings I have been in had the most hideous dresses. I donated all of them shortly after the weddings.

I intended to get the bridesmaids dress I have shortened so I could wear it again, but haven't gotten around to it. It's still hanging up at my parents' house.

I will be a bridesmaid for the first time ever at my sister’s wedding in Jan. I know this isn’t the best quality pic, but it’s a very flattering navy dress. I definitely think I could wear it again!!

That's awesome that you are putting them all to use! I didn't even think about re-wearing my dresses from homecoming!

I have never re-worn any of my dresses. I have donated them to an organization that gave them to girls to wear to proms and other formal occasions.
