After being told we could have our wedding as planned on August 16th, to being told we couldn't, all within 24 hours... to wanting to get married legally before our postponed celebration... to wanting to just cancel the celebration.
We're truly torn on what to do. We had everything ready (besides a few last minute details) for our wedding, and were told 6 weeks beforehand that we could no longer do it. Which I completely understand with the way the world is right now, it was for the safety of everyone. But, I can't help but really be over all this. It's been a roller coaster and I don't want to prolong all these emotions/stress for another 6+ months. I've been dreaming of my wedding day, but now it just isn't fun anymore. I just want to marry the man I've loved for 8 years now. But I can't help to still want the typical wedding experience. It's just not going as planned.
If we cancel completely, we'd lose about $900 in deposits (which isn't bad) and over $500 in decorations and stuff which I could try to sell. But then I don't have my dream wedding. Although, if we continue to go through with it, I have to wait until mid-September to even be able to choose a new date, make sure I can get all my vendors on the same date and deal with all the stress of that, and then deal with all the to-dos in the last months before the wedding. Who knows if this will even be better next year?! Too many unknowns.
I really don't know what to do.
