Cookout reception

Jacqueline, on April 18, 2018 at 7:19 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 7
Looking for ideas to do a cookout reception, my FH wants to do the formal vows and then a cookout for a reception. Any ideas on how to make this happen ? Oh and we are doing our wedding in Pittsburgh we just got stationed in South Dakota.

Are there any parks in the area that you could rent/reserve pavilions for? We are doing a celebration of marriage party in a park (after our DW for those who could not attend) with us bringing food that we are serving in a graduation party type set-up. You would be able to look up any meat stores (or just going to the local grocer) for the things that you want to cook. If you have family still in the area you may be able to use their homes to make sides. You would have to look into rules for the alcohol in parks (if you are planning on serving that). Another option would be to have it at someone's home if someone you are close to is willing to have it there.
Depending on the amount of people you are inviting catering may be your best bet with a BBQ thing. Yes that isn't a cookout type reception, but you will want to enjoy spending time with your guests instead of cooking.

If you are thinking burgers for your reception look at catering or the food truck from BRGR.

We've talked about a similar feel for our engagement party. I think we're doing grocery store catering with quartered rotisserie chicken.
