Coozies as a wedding favor? Cheap or not?

Private User, on January 13, 2015 at 6:06 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 22

Okay, So I found a woman who is having a great sale on personalized coozies. I think they are a good idea for a cheap wedding favor. Only problem is the FH thinks they seem trashy and cheap. Our wedding style will be hippie/boho esque and will be outdoors. I think it will fit our style very well, and will be a good favor for a wedding filled with young adults.

What is your opinion?

If you are serving bottles or cans so that the coozie can be used at the reception, I think it will be great! I never use coozies at home but did love receiving one at an outdoor country wedding as a favor. I think everyone will love it, BUT if your FH really doesn't like it, it's probably a better idea to let him have some input on alternatives. I planned to do personalized pint glasses but changes plans last minute. I found them really cheap here: http://www.favorfavor.com/page/FF/PROD/3420s

You will be able to tell who is from the south and who is not with these responses.

if you feel a favor is necessary, I think they're great.

Celia... you have no idea the ubiquitous nature of koozise in the south. A friend of mine decorated her christmas tree with them last year, instead of ornaments.

Care to share the link?? (I'm assuming its online?)

We are doing personalized koozies for our wedding so obvs. I don't think they are cheap Smiley smile We are having an open bar and we have a big drinking crowd so I know they will be used and appreciated.

We have a huge basket of koozies we've collected over the years that we put out/use all spring and summer long!

I hate koozies - I get one at almost every wedding I attend. IMHO they are cheap and silly and have nothing to do with a wedding. They remind me of something you pass out at a Super Bowl party. I do not know anyone who actually uses a koozie...ever.

If your group loves them do it. It is your wedding have fun! In Chicago I could not see it unless it was something that your group liked.

Based on reading wedding forums, they are apparently very common. I've never seen one personally at a wedding, and they do seem kind of cheap and definitely lacking in elegance. But maybe for a backyard BBQ wedding they would be ok. I'm just not a fan.

    Yes, we are from Oklahoma!

Annakay, I found her on Facebook, they are running a special right now on 200 coozies, both sides printed for $116! Her business page on Facebook is called "R Xtreme Graphics" her name is Sonia Ronspies.

Well, you know your guests better than we do, but it is something that I would probably leave at the table at the end of the night.

Yep!! I'm doing this!! We'll have a crimson koozie for the guys (roll tide) and light pink for the girls!

There's a shop on etsy I'm getting them from. They say "to have an to hold and to keep your beer cold" and it'll have our names and wedding date (:

ETA- the shop were getting them from isn't terribly expensive either. I think it's like 200 for $175?

I'm from the South and I don't like them. Not to be harsh but just like mostly all wedding favors if they have your names and wedding date on them chances are people won't use them after the wedding, much like how gifts with bridesmaid/groomsman printed on them they won't be used again either. If you're dead set on having them maybe you can put the location or a love quote on them instead, something that isn't trapped in one particular day in time.

I just don't care for them any more. Not because they are cheap because I've been to so many weddings and never have I used one that I've gotten. If that's what you want though, don't worry about anyone else.

We are doing Koozies, but they are not going to be "wedding themed". I found a saying that I loved and put that on the koozies in our wedding colors:

"Here's to a long life and a merry one, a cold beer and another one!"

They're super popular among my group.

I have only ever gotten koozies at weddings. They are always used by the pool. If it's in your budget and you like them, do it!

We got an order of koozies to add to "thank you" gifts for our bridal party and all those assisting in some way. Those who have seen them already LOVE them and are so excited.

Ours are designed like. Jack Daniels bottle but with "the whiteheads" our wedding date and location.

I'm making coasters (2 per guest) one with a picture of me and FH and the other with a picture of our little Boston Terrier, Mozart. It's so reflective of who we are, and I think they'll be used after the wedding at least a little bit. We considered doing a personalized koozie with it (we both enjoy drinking as you may guess) but decided to leave it with the coasters. I love the koozies, though, if you like em and they grow on the FH just go for it!! Smiley smile

I've received koozies as favors at a few weddings. I just throw them away when I get home. The only time I have ever used one is on a camping trip, and for that we bought ones that were much better quality than anything they give out at weddings.

Not a fan. I've used a coozie maybe 5 times (and I'm 36 and went to LSU). I wouldn't take one.

True story: I was at a friend's house for a bbq, and he put all of the beers in coozies and demanded we each take one home. They were leftovers from his sister's wedding months prior. He had soo many leftover.
