Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

We had to postpone our April 24th wedding to September 18th. We are now looking at canceling the big wedding altogether. I am currently looking into having something much smaller with just close family and friends with a dinner reception with our cake.

We postponed our April 25th wedding indefinitely as there were no fall dates available at our venue. It was to be a Gone With The Wind Costume Themed event to fulfill a bucket list item and get married at the same time. At 58, you don't want to keep putting off doing things on your bucket list after all. However, an outdoor Georgia summer wedding in August would just be too hot for costumes so it looks like it will be next year. Hope all of our guests can make it then.

Our date is 8.8.20 but we are thinking it may be best to postpone next year in May. Just because it stinks not knowing the unknown and just like someone else commented people might still be trying to get on there feet. But I still hope things are better by this summer 🙏 goodluck with everything!

Mine is June 6th. We are making the final call on big or small May 1st. If there is still tons of uncertainty we'll go with a 10-20 person wedding and a reception a year later for a 1 year anniversary. If the uncertainty has cleared we will go on as planned knowing some people will not yet be ready to travel. Others will be running out of their homes at the chance to socialize.

Most of our vendors were only paid the deposits. We're trying to use the ones we can (photographer, hair and make up, florist) either on our new wedding date or at the celebration later this year. Unfortunately some that we probably won't use with the new plans we've lost the deposit for (DJ, videographer, etc). Our venue is the big one. It's the location, food and beverages, chairs, tables, table clothes all rolled into one. FH has been working to get our money back since we'd paid the most there (additional payments plus deposit). It looks like we might be back everything except the deposit

I completely understand. It was a hard decision to move it from June to August. I'm so ready to get it done too. I've been painting for 2 years and almost planned out.

I hope you’re able to get most, if not all, of your money back. I know how it is difficult for everyone, but it’s hard to see brides’ hard work go to “waste.” I know these tough times for us will make the wedding more special, but I don’t wish this on anyone!

Thanks, yeah it's been a rough spring. Definitely not how I expected it to go. I just keep trying to tell myself we'll have a good story from this... someday

Hi! I hope your new date works for you!! Ours was suppose to be June 13th and we ended up cancelling altogether. Even if things are better by then no one wants to get on a plane (which was 90%) of our guests. We completely understand and respect their wishes. But for us we’ve been planning for 2 years and don’t have the emotional/mental capacity to reschedule till next year (which is the only time that worked for us. So now we are just doing a court house ceremony and hope to have a celebration of our marriage next year. I think by August you will be fine to have a wedding I would think. Hopefully this whole thing is over in a month or so.

In my county you can but they are being very strict about the rules. At first I thought mine wasn’t either but I researched and found online they are just being very cautious, you have to print out your schedule time to prove you have an appointment before they let you in the doors, you aren’t allowed to bring anyone extra... just you and your fiancé, stuff like that. Hopefully yours will open up soon! Good luck

Just moved ours from June 6th to September 5th today. Sad, but at least it put my mind at ease a little.

Just postponed our June wedding today. Half our guests weren’t coming because of the virus. No new date yet
