Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

We are supposed to be getting married in September in Hawaii (from Australia) but we are going to have to postpone because international travel in/our of Australia is currently banned and they think it will be until December/January Smiley sad

Australia also has a 'no more than 5 people at a wedding rule' which includes the bride/groom and officiant so we dont want to get married out here on our original date without our family there.

We were due to get married April 11th but postponed it to April 10th, 2021. We’re not sure how our guest (or ourselves) will feel about flying to Florida or being around people so soon after this lifts.

I'm supposed to get married on Oct 17, 2020, and we are considering postponing ours to summer 2021. I'm not sure if we are being premature and jumping the gun? We are fortunate our venue has been very proactive and helpful. They reached out to us offering to refund our deposit, or to reschedule to any 2021 date of our choosing at no extra cost to us (give their availability). They said that even if the lockdown is lifted, they're not sure what social distancing rules they may need to mandate (ie: limited guest lists) once they re-open.

Almost all our vendors have offered to do a lift and shift of our contracts to a new date at no extra fee as well. We have put further planning on hold since everything is so unknown, and as we wait it out, I'm losing time planning. I still have much to do and don't want to feel rushed, so we are thinking postponing is our best option rather than waiting until last minute. We also have almost 50% of our guest who would be traveling in to California from out of state (including the East Coast). Tough judgement call. It has been a very stressful week for sure Smiley sad

My wedding was originally scheduled for May 16th. We have changed it to August 22nd. I am hopeful everything will be ok by then, as it’s still like 5 months away. But, worse case scenario we will get married that day and have reception later. It just sucks because we literally have everything done. All I had left to do was to pick out the music..

We are planning to livestream our wedding with only the priest, our 2 witnesses, soloist, organist, and videographer in August. While we'd love to have all of our family with us, with elderly parents and so many living out of state we decided to really scale it down. We've waited for 4 years and don't want to postpone any longer.

Our wedding is August 22ND and I’m holding onto hope! Still planning as normal, but will make the final decision in June. Worst case, we’ve decided that we will just do a full cancellation and elope early next year. We will probably use the refunds to buy a house instead. Honestly, I’m over it. I spent 18 months planning this wedding and I’m not trying to wait another year.

We were supposed to be getting married on June 6th but we postponed it a year. We were considering a September or October postponement but didn't want to take the risk with the second wave of COVID-19 that they are predicting. Only 416 more days...

My wedding date is August 15th and we are crossing our fingers that we'll be able to get married that day as planned! However, we have worked with our vendors and coordinator to secure a back-up date for 2021 if things don't look better by the end of May. While the uncertainty is difficult and we are still hoping to get married this year, having a Plan B in place has helped to put our minds somewhat at ease.

We were supposed to be May 24th but moved to Sept 6th. I’m hoping things are ok by then, but honestly I have no idea what I’ll do if they’re not. I guess we might get married in the courthouse & plan the reception/ceremony for May 2021.
