Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

I’m dealing with the same thing. I’ve even been thinking of pushing it off a year and continuing with our other plans of having a baby and buying a house anyway. It’s so frustrating!

We had our date set for 9.26.20 and due to everything and not being able to do much we made the decision to move our date 10.9.2021 is our new date it’s far from now but it was nice to give up our date so that someone who had missed their date could have ours.

We got an email today canceling our January 4 reservation. Smiley cry The team said they were permanently closing as an event venue. We were celebrating at Oceano in San Juan, PR.

We were very excited and looking forward to it. It kind of gave us hope that everything would be okay.

My wedding was September 26, 2020 and I just postponed it to September 5, 2021. I don't know if this was jumping the gun or not but we felt this was the right decision. We want everyone to be able to make it to our wedding and not have any worries. Who knows if there will be a vaccine any time soon or if there will be a second wave of this in the fall. We just want our day to be the best it can be and postponing made us feel at ease.

Teresa, I’m German too🙂. Our wedding is set for June 21st. So far we’re not postponing just yet. My mom is supposed to fly in on June 15. fingers crossed 🤞.
We’re going to wait until second week of May until we’ll make a final decision.

Good to know! We are all in the same boat, none of us know what to do. I know it might depend on the state we live in. I’m hoping that the gathering of 120 people or less will be allowed. Even if you do decide to bump it back, you don’t know how far to bump it back. At what point in time will things be OK?

I totally understand! Our wedding isn’t until November and I know it sounds so silly because that is about 6 months away and things could be better but I have family (who have already bought their plan tickets) coming from England and I would be devastated if they couldn’t make it. We have been in contact with our venue and coordinator getting updates, on how to proceed, have you tried that? It gives a little more piece of mind knowing that the venue and almost all our vendors are keeping in touch to calm our nerves. Hang in there! Things will hopefully get better from here.

I’ve only talked to my venue and they think I should wait it out a little longer before I make a decision. I’ve heard the vendors in my area are being really helpful and easy going with this so I’m sure if it needed to be postponed they will work with me! But let’s hope I don’t have to go that route!
