Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

My wedding was Sept 12th and all the stress that came with not knowing what will happen in the coming months was making me physically ill and evil. We postponed until May 15, 2021 and now I am not sure how I feel. Everything is paid for except the caterer and the decorator and the only reason the caterer is not paid is we may change to food. We are older ( 57 ) and this is a first wedding for both of us but a second marriage for both of us. Is it normal not to care as much or has the stress made me numb?

This is such a tough situation for everyone that our feelings are all over the place! I understand how you’re feeling. It’s just a mess for everyone and making everyone sick! I’m a VERY anxious person to begin with so all of this wedding stress on top of everything else is making me sick as well. It is a time of uncertainty and you are doing what you can with what you can. Stress can do some crazy things!

I was so worried about this at first too, but we also knew we didn't want to wait any longer to be married. We kept our 10 person ceremony short and sweet and saved a lot of the big things for our October one to still make it special. We said traditional vows for this one and saved our written vows the big wedding. We're also saving things like our sand ceremony and first dance for October as well.
Our original date definitely didn't go as planned but it was still so perfect because we got married and were able to celebrate each other and our closest family without the pressure of entertaining all of our guests. We're keeping everything the same for the big wedding because we dreamed about it for so long. I'm a way it's kind of exciitng because you get two special days and you get to be a bride for longer and extend your celebration! Good luck to you and your fiancé, and I wish you the best in whatever you choose 💕

Oh no worries! Awesome that's great you got to hold a date you like.. I wish the venues didn't charge extra for postponement I find that ridiculous, but itll be perfect.. all things with God first, who knows 2020 weddings postponement may be a bitter sweet blessing in disguise for us all. I hate to have to push back my wedding back a entire year but it may way better than we all have ever imagined🤗🤗

My fiance was going to propose to me in person on a Saturday in mid March, flying many states across the country from Florida. That Friday, we both decided it was best to hold off because we'd be on a '2 week' quarantine, which turned out to be an endless push for social distancing; and it's very necessary. So he cancelled his flight. Well, I kinda knew he flying to me to propose and he eventually shared that's what he planned on doing. So, eagerly, he shipped me my ring via FedEx. As soon as I signed for the box, I called him on Facetime and he formally proposed over video chat. It's not what I had in mind but it's a beautiful story to share with our future children and grandchildren. I hate I didn't get the in person, down on one knee proposal, but it's our special moment. This is both of our 2nd marriage. We're just trying to make the best of everything. I'm planning my wedding for October of this year (2020). My coworkers and friends all said it's a 'silly' way for a man to propose, but I'm learning you can't allow everyone else to write your love/wedding story.

I am holding my breath, hoping my August 15th date can be kept. What a horrible thing to go through at a time that is supposed to be so exciting and filled with excitement and love. My heart goes out to all of you! Smiley heart

Our wedding September 12th, we are waiting it out. Hopefully by June we will have a clue which direction we are heading. I'm praying we will be back to normal but we have a Plan B.

I am not sure what I want to do. My wedding is August 8th. I feel like it can still work and I want to wait until May/June to make a decision, but my fiance wants to just postpone it now. It would be August of 2021 because I'm a teacher and I just don't want a wedding during the school year.
I agree that it would be beneficial to postpone it because I could save more, plan more, and not stress out my guests financially since they will be recovering, however I do wish to be married because we want to buy a house and we've already been engaged for 1yr.

I completely understand. We’re going back and forth because we won’t have to necessarily change our “anniversary date” but at the same time I also want all of it in one day.

This is my life. We are 8/8/2020. We just postponed my 5/30 bridal shower to July 18, 2020. So much uncertainty. I think there is a chance Wisconsin could be in phase 3 by August, but at this point it doesn't seem super likely as we don't even have a date to start phase 1.....

Our wedding was May 30th also but in PA. We postponed today until July 25th. I heard every state is so different? Where do you live? Are your vendors okay?? Thinking about you!

Oh no! We don’t have a date for phase 1 either...but the news in our state has been a little more positive lately, so it gives me hope! We’re a little under 4 months out until the big day and a lot can change in that time, staying hopeful! I hope all works out for you!

Same for you! What state are you in? I'm in Wisconsin and we have already passed our peak but the governor just today came out with the 3 phase plan. Wish I had an idea of when it would start and how long each phase will last.

I am in Rhode Island... I’m between Massachusetts, Connecticut, & of course NYC, so we’re kind of right in the middle of it all. We’re expected to peak next week, however, our governor said she wouldn’t be surprised if it is much lower than she expected. She seems eager to open the economy once she feels it’s safe. The last few days our new cases have declined, however today it went up a little today, but not by too too much. So we will see! She gave our state kind of a rundown of how she’d like to move forward and it seems reasonable.. but of course it’s hard because you never know what this virus will do. Trying our best to stay positive!

I definitely rescheduled my ceremony a year out. My wedding day will now be March 2021. I was able to reschedule my honey moon trip as well 😊

    It’s hard to decide
    Wedding is in Early August.
I’m waiting for May 15 ( I’m from SoCal) to decide.
Plan B is to do a small church ceremony on our intended date and reception celebration for next year hopefully. The offices for marriage licenses are closed so we can’t even get or marriage license yet😑
