Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

Hello I’m from rhode island too. We were planning for an October wedding and just changed it today to April 2021. It is so crazy. I am a Nurse as well as my fiancé and our family’s Are all afraid that by October this would still be something that would be going on and all the older people in my family are scared so we felt the need to push ours. 😢.

Omg I can only imagine being a nurse during this time! Thank you for all you do ❤️ I give those in the medical field a lot of credit!
We spoke with our venue today to hold a date for next year, July 2021. It’s so up in the air. We’re holding off til June to make a final decision 😬

No one wanted to do them lol it is crazy. Still trying to figure out where we should get them done.

Oh no! Maybe once things die down a little. Hopefully within the next few months, or once we enter phase 1 (fingers crossed) photographers may be open to it. We did ours at the end of last summer and asked someone who was from my fiancé’s town who had started building her photography business and they came out beautiful! Mackenzie Walton Photo. She has such talent!

Our wedding is schedule for 09/06/2020. Living in uncertainty is driving me a little sad as most of my family is flying from South America. I don’t have a wedding dress yet and I was lucky enough that some places are doing virtual consulting and attempting to help the summer/fall brides. Someone suggest to wait until July to see the situation of the country and make a decision from there. I have consider keeping my date, have an officiant marry us at my future in laws home and schedule a reception once this is all clear.

Yeah we are thinking we will have to postpone.., it’s pretty heartbreaking. Do we keep the date and do something small? We want to start a family so waiting a year is really tough. 💔

I've postponed my June 20, 20 wedding to June 12, 2021. Everyone was understanding. It really sucks because my invitations had already went out and they were pretty expensive. We also have a lot of gifts with our old date on it. We're going to try to get married on our original date though so the date will still have some significance.

Trying to stay positive but it's certainly difficult. Hopefully we will have a much better idea of what August will look like when we sent out invites which we are now planning to do at 5-6 weeks out. The very best of luck to you! Stay healthy!

Hi and congratulations I know it’s kind a hard to see the light at the tunnel with everything going on. I’m still trying to keep hopeful that we had to move our date we are an older couple in our 50s the most of our guest will be in their 50s and 60s so we have to be cautious our wedding is October 24 but we finally made the decision this weekend to postpone till either me or April we are working on the vendor seeing if we can coordinate something but yeah we’re thinking of doing our little ceremony with just my maid of honor which is my daughter and his best man tentatively which will be his son and then have the big event next year . Let’s all continue to stay positive

Wednesday, March 18th our county courthouse closed so we started worrying about getting a marriage license for our April 18th wedding. At that time MISSOURI hadn’t issued the “stay-at-home” orders. Thursday, we tried calling all the Kay Jewlery stores in the Kansas City area and no store would answer, so we couldn’t even get my wedding ring sized. At that point we decided to call his mom in Indiana, she was free so we had a wedding Friday March 20th at my parents house with all the family and friends that could come. Our officiant and photographer were able to come. Monday is when individual county’s started issuing their orders. We discussed postponing, but we wanting to move on with our life and starting a family and didn’t want to want for all this to calm down. We have LOTS of items with a 4.18.2020 wedding date but I love that our anniversary is 3 20’s, lol, 3.20.2020
