Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

Same date too! And I haven’t postponed. It’s tough getting everyone’s opinions. But I am just going to wait it out. We also agreed to get married no matter what on that date. We are in MA. U?

I know! I just don’t know! I feel lost! I talked to me venue and they think I should wait it out a month. They have a lot of other dates open, so I don’t want to miss out on a date though if I need to reschedule. I don’t know what to do.

My wedding is July 18th and I’m hoping things will be back to normal for the big day. My down side is that I don’t have a dress yet. Had an appointment to get one but that got canceled and now I’m worried I won’t have it or a dress at all. I’ve been told by my mother and others that it’s silly to postpone because I can’t get the dress. The wedding that my fiancé and I first pictured has change a lot since we got engaged Christmas 2018, we’ve had a lot of things go wrong and I was kinda hoping things were gonna work out for once

I'm a June 13th bride too, I've stressed and grieved over this so much but I'm almost positive that we will need too postpone the wedding. People have been asking about what my plans are and I wish they could be a little more patient. I've basically stopped wedding planning for the past few weeks because I haven't wanted to think about it when I'm not even sure if it can happen. But I did email our venue to start figuring out our plan B. I'm taking some comfort in the fact that my fiancé and I are not going through this alone and there are so many other couples who are trying to navigate this crazy situation as well. And as my mom said to me, you will still have a beautiful wedding, you still have the person who you love, and at least you'll have a great story to tell your grandkids some day.

Apologies if you took the reference offensively! I figured it’d be an easy way to address all us brides who have been affected. Not meant to be an insult :-)

A celebration of marriage sounds perfect!! I totally get it— planning a wedding is stressful, and now throw in a postponement?! My mind wants to explode at the thought of it lol. Thankfully postponing my wedding hasn’t been a huge pain— everyone was willing to work with us and so it was easier than expected. But honestly, I’m just so tired of all that’s currently happening that im just not really excited anymore, as sad as that sounds 😂 Maybe when we start hearing better news and things start to improve, I’ll start feeling the excitement 💖

I TOTALLY understand. I find comfort in knowing that if we oblige by the rules, we will see a drastic improvement. I just pray everyone can stay at home ❤️ I’m reminding myself it’s way too early to stress— so much can happen in 5 months!! So we’re waiting it out and once July comes around, we’ll assess the situation and go from there. Reach out to me if you ever need to vent girl, cause I’m in the same boat as you!

COVID-19 has most definitely stolen all the fun from us. It’s so sad. I encourage you to stay positive and remember that at the end of the day, this marriage is about you and your SO 💓 The not knowing is killing me too, but I’m trying to remain cool, calm, and positive. Stressing will only steal our joy from us (reminding myself of this is every day!)

April 22, 18 days from now. I'm starting to think that we just go to our officiant have her pronounce us and then when things get back to business get our license and file it. We keep our true date, and maybe later have a small announcement party.

I got engaged dec. 31st 2019. Our wedding was set for August but we are postponing. We haven’t even finished planning crucial parts of the wedding and I don’t even have a dress. At this point hoping things get better or restrictions are lifted is just too unknown for us especially since we haven’t even finished planning the wedding.

I’m glad to hear your excited about it and it sounds beautiful. I sent a message to the pastor and he said we should revisit this at the end of the month. I emailed the venue I’m not sure what they will say but the man seems extremely fair so I believe he would make good in the situation. The photographer is my biggest concern as he required half down and I’m not sure what he will do

Thank you! Same to you! I’m here in NY where it’s BAD. Luckily 8 hours from the city where it’s the worst over in Buffalo. But it’s getting worse here because our city just can’t stay home! They better not ruin this day for me haha!

Hi! My wedding is set for July 17th in Sanibel, FL (we live in Philly). The news is constantly changing and we really want to ride it out instead of cancelling or postponing, but I am very worried that we will have to postpone. More than half of our guests haven’t responded to our invite because I’m sure they are waiting it out too. Any of my fellow July brides decided to cancel? I feel for the brides who have had to cancel or postpone —your day will be beautiful and memorable no matter when it has to take place. This is all so unexpected and frustrating.

Hey! How are you holding up? We had the same original date 04/04. I wasn't that sad before, but this morning, I started to feel really down thinking about the fact that my wedding was supposed to be tomorrow.

Yeah, it's been hitting us pretty hard today. Doesn't help that my custom cake topper finally got here, and it includes our late fur child. We're sadder about her not being there than losing out on our day. We'll get through this. It's just sad right now. Thanks for checking in! #Coronabrides, Postponing or Cancelling? 1
