Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

What is the big wedding going to look like? Whole ceremony as if you hadn't done a little one? Or are you just doing reception? My fiance and I disagree on what that may look like...

We're doing the whole ceremony. Our small ceremony was very short and sweet and we saved most of our big moments for the one in the fall like our written vows, sand ceremony, and bridal party. I also wore a simple dress to this one so I could save my actual wedding dress for the big one.

I love that! And it's what I pictured doing, too! I'm glad to see someone else is planning it, too, so it's not like I came up with some bizarre plan 🤪

We were having a destination wedding May 20.2020. However flights have been changed along with other restrictions. We have decided to wait until next year when we are hopeful new information about the virus can allow our guests to travel safely and will ease. May 2021 will be our new date.

We were supposed to get married June 13, but ended up rescheduling for June 5 of next year. It sucks that we have to wait another year, but I am hoping it is worth it in the end.

This is pretty much my same situation! I'm also a teacher and we are getting married several states away from where we live so it would be very difficult to postpone to sometime during the school year. If we have to postpone (Waiting until June also to make a decision) we will likely get married on our date and have the big wedding next summer. We'll have been engaged over 2 years in August so I don't want to wait anymore!

I was just about to reschedule my May 30 wedding (already canceled) to July 10 when all my family is able to make it but I am reconsidering because I heard that even though the country is re-opening some businesses they are still going to highly discourage travel. And my state is still going to mandate the 6ft rule with no large crowds. I’m just too nervous I’ll end up rescheduling again and not sure I can handle that another time...

Our original date is June 19. And as of right now our venue says we are still good. We did run into a small bump in the road however. Since I am furloughed (I work in Dental)..we lose our medical benefits May 1. Unfortunately I have thyroid issues and my meds are super expensive. So this Saturday, our parents and wedding party are all getting together and we are actually getting married. So our wedding in June will be a renewal and reception. NOT what we planned, but in this craziness, it’s what we have to do.

My wedding was May 9th also, my venue postponed it to June and then again to October. So I think I’m going to wait until June if next. I just pay to God that all of this is over by then.

Originally planned for 08/07/2020 in Chicago. My husband and I already got married at the court house on 08/08/18 with our immediate families, however he is from the UK and we wanted to take care of all of the immigration expenses and procedures before having our reception/celebration. We are now making the difficult decision to postpone our celebration as half of our guest list is from the UK, Europe, Australia, and out of state. We can't take the chance with international travel, and we understand that everyone is going to be trying to get back on their feet once this starts to calm down. We will most likely look at August 2021. Hope everyone is staying safe!
