Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

Mine wedding is on May 24th! We are doing a small family only ceremony with no reception... such a crazy time. Although it wasn’t our dream, we are ready to just be done with it all at this point! Good luck!!

My wedding was originally May 2, but we've postponed to November 20th. I'm praying things will be back to normal by then! We will be having a very small ceremony in June so we can still get married-we've waited long enough. I'm sorry everyone is having to go through this, such a stressful time for all us brides!

Did your venue make you choose this far out or personal choice? I feel like that is so far away!

Our wedding was May 30th too! I’m getting ready to make the big announcement to move it to July 25th! I’m getting concerned about other brides wondering about their Sept/Oct dates, but I’m hopeful! Hugs to you!

    Thinking of you too!

We are in Buffalo NY. Obviously with NYC being so hard hit, we are really worried that NY will not be fully up and running by July, but there's just no way to say. Cuomo said that the state would be opening back up by regions which gave us hope, since if we go off of NYC it seems like there is no way we will be fully up and running by July. But NYC is totally different from upstate, its 8 hours from here!

My vendors have all been amazing and are all available on our new date, except our church, which was okay because we are going with my church instead of my fiance's. His church was a cathedral and very beautiful and mine is not a cathedral, but still pretty. We got really lucky with all of our vendors being available on our new date! But to think we may have to postpone again is just so upsetting to even think about. At this point, I don't even care about rescheduling my shower or my bachelorette, I just want my wedding to be able to happen!!

Thinking of you during this difficult time! It sucks we were so close to our date!

We sent our change the date cards for our new date, July 18th. I am just hoping and praying things are okay by then but with every day that passes and not much is changing, I feel like i'm losing hope. My fiancé is still really hopeful though. The thought of having to postpone again is so upsetting. Hugs to you too!!

OMG I felt the same way you do!! We were supposed to get married March 28th 2020 and decided to elope March 20th not knowing when this this virus would end, so we pushed our "Big" celebration with both our families to July 18th. However, we found out a week after tieing the knot that we will be expecting our first baby at the end of November so now my dress might not even fit in July Smiley ups . Basically at this point I feel like all we can do is laugh everything off and celebrate that during this difficult time we are married, families are safe and healthy, and we are having a bundle of Joy!

Once we postponed our wedding we felt a HUGE weight off of our shoulders so my advice to you is do whatever will help you stress the least amount. And just enjoy this extra time you have together. My heart goes out to all the brides who have been planning for months and yearsSmiley heart #Lovewins

    Hello Ladies,

We postponed our wedding too. Ours was July 17th now Feb 20, 2021. We have a lot of out of town guest coming, so we wanted to make sure they were all comfortable to travel and financially ok as well. Much like most of you all on here, it has been nerve-racking with the unknown and uncertainty. Hang in there ladies... Everything happens for a reason and EVERYONE's wedding will beautiful and ALL the Brides will look fantastic !!!

    xoxo

We were supposed to get married on June 20th in Turks & Caicos and our pastor has said the same thing - that she'd marry us on June 20th at our church, and I think we're going to take her up on that.

We have just postponed officially rescheduled today to June 19, 2021. (sigh) It will be nice, though, because it'll be our first (actual) anniversary at that point.

We are supposed to get married on August 1 in the Hudson Valley (in New York), and today we decided to pick a backup date for next summer. Even if New York’s infection rates keep go down, our getting through the virus depends on continued social distancing. And I’d rather wait a year for a joyful celebration than have an anxious one on time. We’re Jewish, and are thinking of getting married at City Hall on our date and having a Jewish ceremony next year. Still, we’re waiting till June to make the call. Looking at July 4 for next year—wondering if anyone thinks a July 4 wedding is a faux pas? Sending love to all summer brides in this position!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! How exciting for you!! I’m going to take it at least a few more weeks and see how things start to calm down... or if they don’t. We are hitting our peak so the next few weeks should be very telling. September still feels so far away but I hate to wait too long to postpone because then there will be no dates open! It’s all so hard to decide.

    Thanks and congrats again! ❤️

Wow. Our wedding date is September 6th as well. My fiancé and I have been going through the same thought process. We spoke with our planner and venue, both said we are still in the clear to move forward with our date. I’m just nervous about potentially postponing the wedding to next year, which would be a bummer since that would be another year of waiting, since we first started planning in the fall of 2018. I really do believe things will get better by June and we will be able to continue experiencing some lighthearted fun at all of our wedding festivities. Hang in there! All of us will get through this!
