Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

Ugh same! Our wedding is 08/08 too and my emotions are constantly flipping!

Our ceremony/reception is actually on a college campus that's currently doing virtual instruction through summer (fall is still tentative). It's just far enough out there that we don't want to pull the plug too soon.

Right now, we're operating under the assumption our wedding will go on like normal; however, we're looking at doing a micro wedding with just our parents + siblings on 08/08/2020 so we can officially be married. We don't live together and we've been engaged for almost 2 years, so we're ready!!

If we go that route, we'll postpone the big celebration into a vow renewal with original invitees a year later at our planned venue.

December 11, 2020 on Long Island, NY.... stressed out and nervous as hell that this will drag on, but hopeful that things will improve in the next 7 months and we can have at least 100 people and keep our celebration. Either way, we’re going to figure out a way to make it happen somehow. We’ll both be 36 by then and don’t want to delay starting a family.
    Good luck to us all!

Our wedding was set for May 29th. We ended postponing to July 10th. We may elope and have a ceremony later. We don’t know yet.

Try asking your venue to put a hold on your potential reschedule date. That's what we did with ours when they told us to wait it out back in late March. We just postponed our May 24th wedding to November 29th. Good luck!!

Thank you, I kind of implied wanting a reschedule date to put a hold down on but they are also a concert venue so they have those rescheduled too so I’m really going to be out of luck if they can’t give me a back up date!

June 13th bride here! We are continuing as planned. But I have a backup date to Sept 5th booked with my vendors. Just hoping and praying right now. Things seem to be slowly getting back to normal and my fiance is a cop and he seems to think we should be okay. Stay strong ladies!

Our original date is June 28th but we're postponing to December this year. Feels better to have more time and feel more confident.

Happy to hear others are still postponing in 2020. I think others can agree that postponing a wedding also means postponing a family, so 2021 is not that easy to move to.

    You're not alone ; )

We went ahead & got married! We moved our date up from May 9th to April 18th. We had ten people at the house we got married at (including us) and we had everyone else viewing the wedding via zoom!

Yes I’m nervous. I barely planned since we can’t go out. I’m saying by mid/end June if this is still virus strong I’ll postpone and text all the guest. I’m going to tell them we will just TEXT the new save the date once we figure it out. We will mail the invites a few months before the wedding. I refuse to make a new date until the virus settles. Just pointless to make one

My wedding was suppose to be April 18th as well but decided a month before to reschedule to August 22nd. I am not sure all my guest will be able to commit to the new date but like you, I am waiting until June to get a better sense if of this situation.

Yeah, I’m getting married sept 19th.. and slightly stressing it won’t be over by then.. I’ve been told to continue planning like it’ll happen, but we are deciding in July if we are going to or not, if it’s not done by then

My wedding was June 13th but due to our state's and county's regulations we are postponing. Due to our professions the best options we have is to postpone to 2021 but unfortunately our venue is not allowing us a weekend during "peak season" and have limited weekends as all the other March, April, May and most of the June weddings are being moved to the "off-season" weekends.

Our wedding is November 7th. I'm hoping and praying this is all over with by then. I cant watch or listen to the news without breaking down. My fiance has this virus be damned, we're getting married even if it's just us and our parents. We'll just postpone the reception if we have too. But again, I'm hoping it doesn't come to that. I'm praying for all of you brides too! This whole year just sucks.
