Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

We just postponed our May 28 wedding two days ago to August 28. Hope we can still get married that day!

Same we are getting married in Ireland September 11 but I don’t think people will feel comfortable traveling and I would not want elderly guests including my parents having to travel. I am so torn

I'm beyond upset over having to change my date! My wedding was supposed to be July 25th but we postponed because we have alot of older family. Now our wedding date is July 25th,2021.

All of our family is local here in the US. But that is still worrisome for sure for us. My fiancé still has some of his grandparents and I worry about them.

Congratulations, Autumn!! It sounds like you had a really special ceremony. How did your guests feel about viewing the wedding via zoom? My fiancé and I are thinking about doing that too. I would love to hear how your experience was!

They loved it! They were so happy to be apart of it! The app can have up to 300 guests depending on the type of zoom app you have (basic or upgraded version). I would definitely take a look into it, you guys would be happy once you get it done instead of having to postpone it! You could always do a huge reception once “outside opens up again” too lol

We just today decided to postpone our August 15, 2020 celebration to 2021. I’ve notified my venue and am waiting to hear back on what summer 2021 dates are available. Is it too early to decide? Who knows. It feels early, but we believe it was the right choice for us: we have two thirds of our guest list needing to get on a plane to come to SoCal, who knows what CA will do in the next 100 days with opening back up! At the end of the day, we do not want a socially distanced ceremony, socially distanced tables, or the prospect of guests wearing masks. Forget the guilt of asking people to travel. Are we disappointed? Heck yes! But are we at peace? Yep. We’ve been together for 7.5 years - we’ll likely do a small ceremony with our parents just as soon as we can get a marriage license and next summer will do a vow renewal and party with family and friends.

We are in the same boat. Our wedding was scheduled for tomorrow but we pushed it back to June 13. Hopefully all goes well with it as well as yours.

Our wedding was set for 7/3/20 but we decided to postpone it until 7/23/21. Thankfully the venue agreed without a hassle and just gagged the date. Working on changing the dates with the other vendors which I’m sure will be just fine..the venue was the only one we were worried about due to the contract. I’m so excited we have more time to plan..so many new ideas I want to include so I’m definitely looking at the positive side to this.

I’m in September In Brooklyn where’s it’s really hit hard as well and nervous. Unfortunately, we can’t stay home because many people leaving are Essential workers. I’m hoping we can marry in September but having a B plan as well is important.

We moved our wedding out to August as well. I am feeling hopeful. I think most states will be fully open by the end of June. Praying for everyone. This has been very stressful

Our wedding is scheduled for 7/24/2020 but we are becoming more and more nervous but accepting that it might need to be postponed. We are waiting until early May until our governor updates New York State on what they are doing. We're in limbo right now, not doing any planning right now. I had to cancel my bridal shower for 5/17/20. We're hoping we don't have to postpone but the reality is in our heads if it does happen and we're still in this shutdown mode by end of July.

We were due to get married May 1. Our wedding coordinator gave us 1 date in June,July and August. We chose August 21. We thought pushing is back as far as we could was best.

Our original date was September 26 2020 but decided that even though it’ll probably be fine by then, we may as well postpone to 2021! It reduced my stress by so much. Now we’re having a May wedding Smiley smile. I know a lot of people who postponed their spring weddings to late August or September and they all feel confident it’ll be fine by then!

My original date was 9/26/2020 as well and we made the decision last week to postpone to September 2021. It was a not an easy decision but we felt it was best!
