Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

Most of us who postponed to August/Fall feel no sense of confidence --but who does? In no way will things be "normal" then but we can hope groups of at least 50 can gather by then (still distanced, probably face masks). Until there is a vaccine and cure (not anticipated until 2022 with a 2nd wave supposedly coming) there is no sense of relief/confidence anytime coming. Some people have been engaged for a long period of time and what matters now is the marriage vs the wedding. Yes, a lot of time, energy, tears have been poured into the planning but kudos to all the brides who have made it work during this time and still came out just as happy (and probably a lot less in debt)!

I have an option of by July things aren’t back to some type of normalcy, that I can postpone it again until sometime next year.

We were originally scheduled for April 4th but have rescheduled for July 11th this year. It is a second marriage for both of us (widow and widower) but still don't like the wait. I feel for all the first time brides... I would have been crushed and crazy. I still don't know what we will do if we are expected to reschedule again... prayers for a cure...

I feel for every bride. This has to be one of the hardest decisions to make. We decided to postpone our wedding that was scheduled for July 17, 2020 until July 17, 2021. July 17th is a significant date for us (we met on 07.17.17 and got engaged on 07.17.19), so we couldn't just reschedule to another month. We were worried for our family and friends, because most of them were traveling from out of town to attend. We also had to keep in mind that even if things were to get back to semi-normal, we have family and friends that have lost their jobs. They wouldn't be able to afford the trip anymore and we want our wedding to be a fun ocassion. We are still getting married on our original date but we will have the formal event next year!!

I changed mine from April 23 to July 4. I don’t want to go past that to be honest. I’d say wait it out! Good luck!

We just postponed our 6/19 wedding to 9/4/2020. Praying we are allowed to have 125 people gather at that time. So far, we have not gotten one RSVP saying someone cannot come!!

My wedding has been postponed to October 24th, was suppost to be April 24 just two days ago. Still sad about it. I think the constant reminder from family and friends isn't making it easier. Someone called me today to remind me I was supposed to be going on my honeymoon right now...thanks!

Our wedding was supposed to be August 16, 2020 and we just announced that we are postponing to July 25, 2021. The reason we are postponing is that my fiancé’s family are all traveling from the other side of the U.S. or from overseas, and it just didn’t seem right to have them buy plane tickets right now, with everything being so uncertain. It is a lot of work having to replan everything.

My venue won't allow us to cancel yet either Smiley sad they also will not give us a postponement date at this time Smiley sad

we are supposed to get married July 5, and I feel as though the chances of us having a wedding July 5 are slim to none at this point. Anyone else in the same boat where you cannot get a back-up date?

Our wedding is late September but in Greece. I have no idea what to expect by then at this point. Even if it’s feasible, most of our folks would have to be booking travel now. I’ve had coronavirus so he and I may still go to Greece if we have antibodies and elope on our date. Not sure.

Yes exactly!! And I agree with you for the 2nd wave they talk about fall but when the flu starts. The flu doesn’t really start until November December time! And how can they even predict that! Lol and they did say they’d be more prepared so I don’t think we’d need another shut down!! The only dates available were October 23&30😔 I wish it was early October but we’ll see what happens and maybe they’ll have more dates if people switch!!
