Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

We postponed our April 24th wedding to August 28th, but we've been debating about just pushing it till next year because who knows what's going to happen with the world

I feel oddly comforted by all the posts about baby making or it being involuntarily pushed back by covid-19 rather. I’m so ready to get my family started and I don’t want to put my wedding off again. Every time it gets pushed back my clocks ticks louder and louder. I’m 34 and I don’t have much more time. I’ve waited my whole life to become a mother

I hear ya! I’m going to be 32 and I have friends who have tried for YEARS to get pregnant (two that have resorted to fertility treatments) and one that is still struggling so I’m terrified to keep waiting on trying. My goal in life is to be a mom. I need to start that journey sooner rather than later!

I'm in the exact same page as you since our wedding is June 13. Did you end up postponing? The only date in the fall that would work for us and our vendors is September 11 on a Friday.

Brides that are postponing until next year, are you sending out a new invitation/rsvp? Our original date is June 20, 2020 and we have rescheduled to June 19, 2021. Our rsvp cards are still coming in and I'm not sure what to do.

Our wedding is set for Nov. 7, 2020; we will more than likely cancel the big wedding/reception. We still plan to get married this year but do something small with close family and maybe friends. Then have a big reception next year. Better safe than sorry, I would hate risking anyone getting sick from my wedding.

    Shakiyla,
Did you get your money back? We are Oct 18 and our vendor has so far stated if we cancel we will lose all deposits.

We've only given a deposit to the photographer and venue. We hope to keep the photographer for our small wedding but we haven't heard from our venue at all since this quarantine started, we only put down a deposit to reserve the date.

We may have gotten ahead of ourselves, but we're postponed our July 25th wedding to December 6th - I am way too anxious and we would rather be safe that sorry. But I won't lie, there are so many other factors involved that I am so relieved we did postpone it.
We were going to get married in a family friend's backyard but his health has been seriously deteriorating and my fiance's father was insistent things would be fine. Plus, his father had taken a few things into his own hands that we had never spoken about. We're looking at this as a chance to start fresh and have everything be how we want it,

My fiancé and I were set to get married July 3rd but most of my family and friends are in Italy so we postponed it to December in the hopes that international travel will be allowed by then 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

I have 6/28 wedding in California and thinking to postpone it to next year October and make a baby first. I don’t know if this is realistic, but I am thinking to have a baby ASAP and see if I can give birth around April/May 2021 and host my wedding October 2021. What do you guys think?

Postponing the big reception to August 16, but hopefully fingers crossed we will habe a tiny ceremony on May 30th. I like the idea of getting to wear my dress twice, if i can get it from the shop the week before.

I can't imagine having to wait another year to be married let alone a few more months. Even though the world is at a standstill, it doesn't mean we cannot start our lives together. It just requires a bit more perserverance and communication. Even if my reception has to be scaled down, I'll be ok with that. I have been reminded what is really important and what my priorities are.
