Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

Are you planning on wearing your wedding dress for your courthouse ceremony or are you going with something else?

Ours is August 7th. Even though they are going to start opening things soon I am still worried. The numbers are not going down and I have 120+ guests.

Hi! We have the same original date. My FH and I are seriously considering postponing to 8/28/21, but haven’t pulled the trigger yet. What got you to your final decision? Did any family give you a hard time? My mom is NOT on board with postponing and thinks everything will be fine and lifted by then, but we expect about 130 guests and I do not want to have to impose any restrictions like social distancing, etc. Thanks in advance!

I feel the same way you do. This is my first time posting on this topic but we postponed from 4/18 to 7/12 and I’m worried. I spoke with our venue Monday and they said no brides have cancelled for July and going forward yet. I just want to get married. We’ve waited a year and a half already and now we’re waiting until July. I hope to have the wedding even if it’s a limited amount of people. I don’t want to postpone again.

Completely understand. I just found a way to get a marriage license so at least our small wedding will happen. It would be really hard to miss out on celebrating with my family. I want to see my siblings who are in new york and texas too

Ours is 9/19/20 in NY, we live in FL. We may just get married in the courthouse to keep our date and seriously considering postponing the big reception next year as we have friends and family that will be traveling including us, coming from different states and international.😏

We were May 16th and postponed until June 20th. We guess we will have around 120 people come (we both have large families and I grew up in church so those members want to come too). Things have started slowing down here in Tennessee and business are opening up again. I'm just praying it won't cause the virus to get worse and we have to postpone the wedding again. I have medical problems and need insurance for treatment so we have to get married before my 26th birthday in August regardless. The whole situation just sucks.

I was supposed to be getting married on October 3rd if this year but instead we postponed it until July 10th, 2021. I’m actually ok with it because now I am less stressed and I can actually plan this the right way without rushing and being a bridezilla

We postponed our April 17th wedding to July 17th although today our governor made mention that come July weddings likely can be held with no more than 50 people. We have 72 that will be attending. We definitely don't want to put it off again. I'm torn, debating if we just proceed with our ceremony on July 17th and then have our reception at a later date. If we go about that route I'm confused as to whether we use our limo on the ceremony day as well as our photographer and if we should have photos taken after the ceremony followed by a small gathering at our house afterward with some food and cake.

I am July 11 and having the same ideas and confusions! Right now our plan B is to get married in a small ceremony on my friends property (we’re lucky it’s free and beautiful!) and then show a little ceremony video at a reception on a later date. I just don’t want to do a ceremony twice. Right now we are thinking of forgoing a rehearsal dinner and using the money/caterer we would have had for that to do a small dinner and maybe cupcakes after the small ceremony. We will do photos and getting ready and all that. Everything else (dances, toasts, etc.) will be saved for the reception. And I would get to wear my dress twice haha which I feel like we’ve earned after all this! But still waiting until late May to make a final decision.

    Hi Emily,

I would reach out to your stationary company and see if they are willing to reprint or give you change the dates for free. Shutterfly, reprinted my invites with new date and details free of charge. Alternatively, you can send a text/email to your guests and let them know you are changing your date and will be requesting new rsvps in the future. Further, ask them to please stay tuned for updates in the coming months. Good luck!

We were also planning our wedding for April 18th, we originally postponed to June 6th but felt it was not far enough out to keep everyone safe, we have many elderly and children coming to our event and now we have Postponed AGAIN to March 14, 2021.

I will admit it has been very hard to reschedule everything and watch all my hard work disappear but i am truly hopeful that our new wedding will be just as special and mean so much more after facing all of these hard times and changes. I hope your day is wonderful and you and your future husband are even stronger after all of these things.

    Praying for you
