Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

I’m in November so for now we are very hopeful. My sisters on the other hand is in July so backup plans are being made. No matter what, we will be getting married on our original dates with whoever can attend and we will move the reception to a later date.

Hello! I’m going to do a super small ceremony on 9/26/2020 (our original wedding date) with possibly just immediate family. And we are postponing our larger celebration to March 2021. Depending on if COVID-19 makes a second comeback just before then, we wrote in our venue contract that we can move our event to a safer time in 2021. Best of luck to you all! Hope we can all have the weddings of our dreams, someway and somehow. :-)

I'm in Maine. Our governor sent up this 4 phase of opening thing but its all dependent on the phase before it. Here's hoping we have some sort of summer

It’s been an emotional roller coaster. My wedding is 7/18 and we are still having it but I’m pretty sure the governor of WA will only let us have up to 50 which will be super hard. My FH and I are still having the wedding and reception, not doing anything next year to celebrate its just been very upsetting. I may use Zoom for those that can’t come but I’m not sure how to set that up.

I’m a 11/7 bride to be and I’ve been pushing off thinking about rescheduling. Since we’re entering May and not much has changed, we’re considering moving to next fall. There’s too much anxiety and uncertainty about the fall with talk of this second wave. Feeling damned if ya do it, damned if ya don’t. Sigh.

I'm not on a MUCH of a time crunch to postpone but same, I'm so overwhelmed by all this! We live in Louisiana and our wedding is set for November 7 2020 in Hawaii but I'm afraid we won't even make that because we literally can't get any planning done! Everything is closed because they're in quarantine too so nobody is available! Our venue was barely able to reach back out about our questions on possibly a date change... Ugh this is so hard and I want to cry all the time. I put off my wedding for 2 years because of my sister's (we got engaged at the same time) and our best friend's weddings and now I feel like this is a punch in the gut for being so patient and kind about letting everyone else go first and waiting for my turn... I know November is far away but it's too close for comfort with almost ZERO planning done, no dress, no nothing but venue and food 😭😭😭... Ugh...

October sounds fun! What state are you in? My wedding is December (NY), but I’ve been trying to keep track of August weddings because I’m in two.

    Hello,

Our wedding date is August 22,2020 in Iowa. We have talked about postponing it a year. I know it’s crazy, but the stress of the unknown is scary to us. I had to already cancel my bridal shower, and possibly my bachelorette party. We have already talked to our vendors and everyone has been extremely accommodating. Currently we are looking at August of 2021, but are going to wait another week or so before we make the big switch. For us another year seems like forever, just like I’m sure most of you are feeling. But it also seems refreshing not to be so extremely stressed out for the months leading to our wedding. Plus we have many guest flying in from California, North Carolina, Florida and Texas. We always dreamed of our wedding day being surrounded by ALL our friends and family. This might be a bad move on our end, it might be okay in August. The stress is just too much for me to handle at this point. Cheers to you all. I hope we all can have our big day just as we dreamt.
    Kindest regards Alli

We had to postpone from 5/9 to 7/25 and I’m with you, I don’t know what I’ll do if we have to postpone again. At this point I’m hoping that the show will go on, maybe just limited to 50 guests. Thank god we don’t have a food/bev minimum.

I'm planning on wearing my dress to the courthouse. The plan is to hopefully go and get pictures in a park after. My dress is an A-line (almost fit and flare) so I don't think I'll feel weird wearing it. But I'm sure after all of this there will be lots of brides, wearings all different types of outfits, at the courthouse

No minimum for us either. I really want the “show to go on” even with a limited amount of people. Fingers crossed for us both.

Last night our governor said gatherings of 10 will be permitted May 25th, so even if it's a ten person wedding, we are going for it. The only deal breaker is if I have to wear a mask or if we can't get the photographer.

We have had more fun in the past month planning this way than before. I have just waited 15 years on this and I don’t want to reschedule. We live in a very very small community in North Carolina so we are all just hoping for the best so far so good. I wish everyone the best and never ever in my wildest dreams would have thought 1 1/2 years ago I would be getting married during a pandemic.

We just made the decision to downsize our June 20th wedding. We will be having about 50 guests (if they are comfortable being there), down from 200. We will livestream the event so everyone who wants to can see it! We will throw a huge party next summer hopefully to celebrate our 1 year.

On the fence. Our wedding date is Sept 4th and that is considered to be a "gray area" as to whether or not it can take place or should be postponed. I figured if I haven't heard from the venue - no news is good news. Of course, now that my mother, sister, daughter and a few friends are asking what I'm planning to do, I decided to reach out to our planner at the venue. Well, the phone number has temporarily been disconnected. That is of ZERO help because the location is at a restaurant that is listed online as OPEN during regular business hours. So at the moment... our plans are truly at the mercy of Covid-19.
