Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

My husband and I are military so it’s kind of hard to plan ahead when deployments and such are in the way but we were supposed to be getting married this November and now we have moved it to January or February so we can’t really secure anything until we know when we will be back from training and what not. It sucks not knowing but we are definitely having our wedding next year.

Yes we are postponing the reception / ceremony ( which will be a renewal of vows) until next year in Jun. We are still getting married this June it will only be us and our children attending. I was so disappointed but with everything going on safety comes first. I would never want to put my family and friends at risk ever. So my wedding this June will be more about us and combining our family. So I can’t wait until I marry my best friend!!!!!!!!!!!

We are November and share the same anxiety as so many of you. We have decided to make the postponement call around mid June which is when we would be ordering our invitations. We are terrified for this 2nd wave due in the fall, plus we want everyone to breathe easy and have fun. Hard to imagine that right now.

We just postponed our August 9 wedding in SoCal to August of next year. It was such a difficult decision, but what pushed us to postpone was realizing that half of our guests were from out of state. I did not want the wedding to be socially distanced and have our guests wear masks. I also didn't want to put my guests in a difficult position to travel amidst all of the uncertainty. I found that my hopes kept going down with each day which is obviously not how any of us pictured the months leading up to our wedding would be like. Now that we have pushed it to next year, I honestly feel more at peace and know that I can enjoy the process leading up to the wedding normally. Sending so much love and positive energy to all of the brides on here right now.

We are getting married on September 6th. Some days I’m optimistic and some others I don’t as there’s is no way of knowing if the laws in this state will allow us have an event with 50+ people. We decide to make a final decision by June but I wished I could know now as our catering company is not allowing us to cancel and provide a refund just rescheduled until next year. Please keep me posted on what you and your fiancé decide.

I will! We are in Western New York that is still seeing an increase in hospitalizations so I’m not sure when we are even going to be able to open to begin with which will definitely impact the number of people allowed at the wedding. I’m there with you... some days I’m completely optimistic and then others I just don’t see how it can happen as planned. 😫 My venue told me to wait until June as well because that's when I’d be getting my invites ready to send out. Hoping for the best! 🤞🏼

I keep going back and forth on if I’m feeling positive or not about my December 11, 2020 wedding here on Long Island (NY). I feel good about it when I think it’s 7 months or so away and things will ease up. And then I think about the whole idea of a second wave and my positivity goes straight down.
We’ll both be 36 by then and don’t want to postpone, so we’ll have something even if it’s not my big dream wedding. Honestly, even if we can have 50 people I’ll be happy. I think my fiancé will take an abbreviated guest list harder. Our current invite list is 175, so it’s a big cut. 😞

Wait a bit to postpone or check with your venue to see what tour options are!! I waited till last month to change my June 6th to Oct 24th. My venue is not even opening till July. I'll know things aren't not going to be perfect, but it will still be special. Good luck in whatever you decide!!

Our wedding is June 6th. We are allowed to have 25% of the fire capacity of our venue. That means we can have 37 people. So.... We're gunna have 37 people! Full ceremony, party everything.

I think by December you should in the clear. A lot of states are starting to reopen and by June I’m sure NY will have safety guidelines for reopening!! Best of luck’

Our original weddinh date was May 16. We decided to postpone until August 22 but recently were told to expect restrictionson travel and party sizes until December. We opted to postpone until June. We want to be married so bad but we needed a fresh start with no uncertainty or waiting to figure out what we could do. I hate the time but I love that i can breathe again and look forward to our date without huge worries. Like the say, if you force a fart you end up with s***.

Ours was 6/27 and we ended up postponing for a full year to 6/26 to reduce the stress. We made the decision the final week of April. It’s awful but it’s better than affecting those who have to travel from other states and may not be able to due to COVID. Thankfully everyone is willing to work with us and the invites I had ordered are able to be reprinted free of charge!
