Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

So true. The more and more I think about it, for our family's sake it is best to postpone. Mostly because we are having it out of state and everyone has to travel. Not at all a long distance but I think that even though people might be ready to get out of the house by September, will they really want to start boarding planes and staying in hotels so soon? It seems like there will not be a smooth transitioning of opening up states and cases of Covid declining. We will definitely see an upswing again and I'd prefer it not to affect any of our guests because we decided selfishly not to postpone. Although I have not called it yet. It's a true battle between head and heart. Good luck to us all. Stay safe!

I've already reschedule once but probably will reschedule again until next year. Even it's clear enough in August I don't think people will feel comfortable enough to travel and I have family in NY that will have to. Also gives family and friends enough time to recovery from all if6 this.I'm good one moment with it than I'm not.

I’m September 26 and super worried too! The only thing I’ve really booked is the venue. I’ve reached out for all other things, but just put a hold on finalizing them till things settle down.

I was really quick with my planning and have EVERYTHING booked minus my cake and flowers. Haven’t reached out to my vendors minus my venue which I probably should! It’s all just so stressful!

Our wedding was originally June 27, 2020 in Washington State. Our governor shared reopening guidelines on May 1st that made it clear that wouldn't be possible (maybe with a max. of 49 people, but that's not certain and we have a guest list of 130), so we're in the process of postponing to September 26, 2020.

    I’m bummed today.
Today I found out my bucket list Yellowstone trip I’ve been planning for over a year has to be cancelled and honeymoon to Hawaii cancelled.
I’m going to Colorado instead I did find a cute bed and breakfast there for honeymoon.
I’m bummed I didn’t take vacation last year because I was waiting until Yellowstone trip. Working in healthcare and need a vacation.
Not sure where to go in June now.
Hopefully things will work out ok for wedding in November.

I love the idea having two dates to celebrate!
I’m with you on the if I have to postpone again I’m just eloping.

Bummed if it does get cancelled but at same time it’s is that is most important and our life together not this one day. I have to try to remember that. The people close to us will be there (in person or via zoom) I have no doubt if the event gets cancelled. It’s just hard when you take a year and a half to plan and don’t execute but I don’t mind having elopement it’s that is safer for all. Just wish this whole thing didn’t happen.

Illinois plan looks like nothing over 50 until a vaccine, effective therapies, or it basically just disappears

We were September 19, 2020 but we have a big guest list because I'm Italian so my family is huge lol.. but we postponed until June 2021. Too many unknowns with social distancing guidelines, masks, gloves, guest's fear of attending, people recovering from unemployment, family members that are in the high risk category, etc..and just not feeling like we could have the wedding we wanted. Personally, I'm a hugger and love to dance, so the possibility of not being able to hug my guests and dance close together, is just something I didn't want to experience. We're living in a different state than where our wedding is, so we were going to be limited on the pre-wedding activities, like bridal shower, bachelorette, dress fittings,etc.. We have guests and members of our bridal party from multiple states too, so their regulations may be different too. Our reception hall only had limited availability for 2021, so that also limited us. Every wedding, bride, groom, their families, and guests are so unique, so I suggest to everyone to take the time to talk about all your concerns and options with your soon to be spouse and your family if they're assisting with it, as well as your vendors. While it's been stressful, I feel that all the unknown weight has been lifted and I feel more confident we can have the wedding we want. I send you all positive vibes and prayers for each and every one of you going through this! We will prevail! ❤❤❤

My wedding was in November, 2020; my fianans I decided to postpone it to May 2021. We just didn’t feel like dealing with all the drama from 2020 anymore. I’m hoping that there’s some relief from all this by 2021. I’m praying that there is no second wave.

Thank you. We are far from NYC but our county doesn’t do very well with following the stay-at-home rules so we are just getting out of our peak and our hospitalizations fluctuate day to day. I wish people could just follow orders so we can start looking to the light at the end of the tunnel!

I haven't postponed yet, but as of today, my venue is saving both August 1st and December 19th for me.

This part. Our original date was 09/05/2020 and we pushed back to 09/04/2021. We couldn't imagine basically demanding that our guests, many of whom are elderly, put themselves in harm's way for a 30 min ceremony and subsequent party. Just seems and feels selfish TO US given the grander scheme with rising death tolls and widespread job, financial, and economic losses. We're also in NYC so it was a no brainer for us really.
