Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

Thank you so much for this! We're supposed to get married in upstate NY in October and Im wondering what the restrictions will be like for weddings once things are lifted.

Its so weird, the states are reopening but I feel that there's little guidance. There are restrictions for some businesses but it seems no one is following them. I haven't heard anything about large gatherings but no one is shutting anything down from what I can tell. I hope things are better in New York by October!

That is so true also you would be limited on how many people. I have so much to do basically everything you said and mine is in September

I feel the same way, one moment I'm good and then I'm not. Our wedding is set for Sept and the venue is being super cooperative with postponing or changing the reception to their outdoor space to accommodate social distancing. We're still undecided about postponing although I'm thinking at this point we have no choice since all guests need to travel. We're thinking to postpone to October right now and worse case scenario we can postpone again. This whole thing totally sucks.

Hey ladies my fiance and I decided to push our wedding out to July 10, 2021. This was a very hard decision for us but we decided we will elope on our specially chosen wedding date of July 11, 2020 then for our 1 year anniversary we will celebrate with our family and friends with our wedding ceremony and reception. This actually is going to work out better for us because we have more time to pay on everything and have bigger festivities than we were planning.

We have too many friends and family between us to narrow our guest list down to 50 and most of the activities we were planning won't be available.
Best of luck to you all!!

That is great that they are officially having weddings at your venue! Can I ask what state your wedding will be in? Definitely don't feel guilty - better to be safe than sorry and I'm sure your guests appreciate you putting them first Smiley smile

I completely understand but I didn't want any restrictions on my wedding. I didn't want to push it to next year but Its better for me. I feel so much better now not under the stress of not knowing what's going to happen.

Our wedding will be in Georgia. Yeah even though everything is just about open here, the state has been the topic of discussion for opening too soon. The cases are still pretty high so people are still nervous to go out

I am getting married September 6th and we decided to cancel because our families are worried about a 2nd wave. The reception venue is not understanding at all . We are beyond stressed right now

Ladies, I’ve posted in here a couple months back. I’ve been facing the facts that I probably need a Plan B for my September 5th wedding so I reached out to my venue and my priest and BOTH think September will be okay!! What?? I’m in Western NY where we cannot get out hospitalization rates down so we are far from opening. I’m quite surprised they both think the original date will be okay!

My new plan was to get married in a smaller ceremony in the church, because I’d hope by then small gatherings could be allowed. My church is big and my priest said we can fit 70 people 6 ft apart. So my thought is to maybe go on with just a small ceremony on the date so I can then start the baby making and then postpone the reception to a later date.
Anyone as shocked as me that my priest and venue want to keep the same date and that they think things will be okay? I was waiting for their responses back to say that we needed to postpone!

The officiant offered a full refund. The Dj and photographer offer partial refunds, but the amounts were laughable compared to what we paid. My other vendors offered to move funds to a new date. Luckily we have rescheduled everything for September 5th.

My reception will be in GA September 5th. I hope fears have settled a little by then so that all of my guests can attend.
