Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

My wedding date is 9/19/20. We just decided to move forward with the ceremony as it is outside and postpone the reception until next year. We'll use it as an anniversary party.

Thank you, it makes us feel better about having to postpone everything else.

We had our destination wedding in Alaska on June 20, 2020 and our 2 week honeymoon. So glad we didn’t postpone. 40 of our friends and family got tested and joined us. Best 3 weeks ever. #Coronabrides, Postponing or Cancelling? 1

Not sure if anyone here has seen this yet, but I found this “covid wedding” calculator from withJoy.com where you can put your wedding details and they will give you recommendations on if you wedding is safe or not and tips on how to handle it. It really helped me not freak out and calm down a bit ! https://withjoy.com/glee/covid-wedding-calculator/

Hey there! 10.31.20 bride. My venue in Erie County NY provided some guidelines: masks required when not seated, operating at half capacity, 10 people on dance floor, limited people at bar, etc. it doesn’t sound like they will allow me to use my security deposit for a new date. So either we for-fit thousands of dollars or we stick with it and hope it can’t get any worse. Has anyone else been given similar guidelines ? What to do? Does anyone know where to find guidelines for weddings in the state of NY because I have about googled everything with no results!!!

I think they are releasing the guidelines in the next 24 hours. I’m praying they wont be super restrictive ugh...

We were first July 4th then September 4th and we decided yesterday to throw in the towel and postpone we don’t see the world being safe yet numbers are going up not down in NC😞 I am a bit disappointed but we are doing what’s right for everyone’s safety so that makes me feel a little better we are going to go away for a few days later this week to switch up the vibe of what we are feeling.

We postponed the big day until next year as well. We are still getting married on our date this year since who knows where the world will be next year. Luckily here in NY our numbers are continuing to go down so it is a little safer for us to get married in front of our family and closest friends with just a little backyard celebration after. Good luck to you and enjoy that time away! Hope it helps because this has been a very hard time for all us brides!

NC bride as well! We were originally June 6, then moved to August 31, and we just postponed to next year 😭 We didn’t see any other option with 100 guests

Well it’s official we were provided NYS guidelines and it is 50 people max or 50% of the occupancy, which ever is lower and absolutely no dancing. This is all on the NYS websites. We will still get married on our date of 10.31.20 with 50 people and have a reception next year at some point. Being a 2020 bride has been difficult and if we all can pull through and marry our best friends I would say we are all power couples on here!!
