Hi ladies,

Out of curiosity, are you ladies postponing or cancelling your weddings? My fiancé and I were supposed to get married on April 18th, but three weeks ago we decided to move it to August 30th. Almost our entire guest list is able to make the new date (~120 people), but we’ll see when the time gets closer. I’m really hopeful about our new wedding date, and I’m praying every day that things start to improve as people comply with the new guidelines— I would be so happy to see some kind of normalcy by June. What are you ladies thinking about doing?

My wedding is 17 days away. Over half of our guests have told me they will not be attending. Obviously im not mad, I understand but it's making me quite depressed.... any advice?

We are Sept 6th as well! What state are you having your wedding and what are the restrictions right now? I am super nervous bc we are having ours in KY and as it stands wedding venues are at 50 or less guests BUT the governor just yesterday restricted social gatherings to 10 or less. So I'm worried that venues and public places are not far to follow. I don't want to have to postpone last minute, but this date is very special to me and I would really like to go through with it at all possible.

I am in the same exact predicament. Our wedding is in MD, we are in phase 2, I believe that’s 50% capacity limit. Our wedding planner and venue insists that we will be able to have our wedding on our original date but there are rumors of a possible shut down in the works. My fiancé and I feel like we have waited so long for our day so we want to continue with our original plans on having the wedding on Sept 6th. We even moved 90% of our wedding outdoors. It’s very frustrating, one day things seem to be looking up and another it’s back to uncertainty. Like wedding planning isn’t stressful enough. I am hopeful that we will be able to get married on the 6th. We still have over a month to go!

Hi Christina! Our wedding was for October 24, 2020 and when we made the decision to postpone back in May I was RELIEVED! My stress lever went down and no anxiety. Which also gave us better options as far as dates for next year before they got booked out. Now the new date maybe an issue May 15, 2021 because COVID-19 and these NON WEARING MASK 😷 people .

Hey Shannon worse but great you and FH just tie the knot on your original date and do the big celebration event when the situation allows it.

We postponed. Still getting married on our date with our bridal party and family because our numbers and cases are very low (knock on wood). We want to start a family more than anything so we are doing a vow renewal and our big reception on our anniversary next year.

We got the ok from our priest the other night and we will be going ahead with our church ceremony on October 10, 2020. It will be an invite only ceremony and we will be having a small celebration for family who attend church in a friends backyard across the street from the church. After much thought and consideration we have decided to move our reception date to July 25, 2021. All will hopefully be confirmed today with our venue.

Yes, that is our back up plan. We would absolutely love to have our wedding on the original date since we have future plans of starting a family right away. Moving the wedding back a year may cause our plans to get pregnant be prolonged another year. Also, I don’t want to walk down the aisle or enjoy my honeymoon while pregnant. If there is any chance we can have our wedding this year on our original date, we are definitely going for it. I’m speaking it into the Universe that we all will be able to have our weddings as planned!

We were suppose to be June 13th 2020. But we reached to June 19,2021. It just sucks because we were planning for 2 years and had to reschedule a month prior to when the wedding was suppose to be but there is a silver lining in every situation and for me and my fiancé we ended up getting a refund from our wedding venders and buying a house sooner than expected!! We are still having a nice wedding next year and looking forward to having it at a new venue and changing things up a bit. Maybe for me this was meant to be for the better.

Hello everyone we were originally October 23, 2020 now we are 5/7/21 in Rhode Island. What do you think the guest count would be at that time? Venue is booked but venue is too big for only 50 people. I am torn, part of me wants to see what fall of next year is going to look like and maybe move it to the fall if the amount of people you can invite goes up. Just don’t know what to do. Hard also because I want to book all my vendors to secure them but don’t know if I should change the date and most vendors want a deposit and they are not giving back deposit if you need to move the date and they aren’t available on the new date.

We have moved our wedding three times. First due to the loss of my 10 year old step dauhter to brain cancer and then a house fire that started at my neighbors house at 3am in the morning. Then last year to covid. Now we are set for December 18th and we are sticking with it. Everything happened early enough for us to where we hadn't even sent out Save-the-dates at the time. I just hope that things get back to normal...

    Hi Carla,
I’m postponing again. From May to September. Fingers crossed it goes ahead.
We’ve asked everyone to do RSVPs on here rather than send new invites as the last postponement ones were cheap. It’s the 2nd time we’re moving ours.Fingers crossed yours goes ahead too!
