Coronavirus=pure Panic

My wedding is 5/2/2020. My county just shut down for two weeks. I’m in a state of panic, this is not something you think you need to prepare for when wedding planning. It sure if I’m over or under freaking out here. Anyone else??

    I’d think Sunday is better so they can all be there for the rehearsal and such. Then they just take Monday off.

    We’re leaning towards postponing too. It’s so challenging to make a decision. All we can do is stay educated and work with our fiancé. We will get through this abc it’ll make one hell of a story years from now.

    I completely understand girl, same boat. We’re leaning to postponing regardless unfortunately my grandparents and an uncle in remission from cancer are in the wedding party. We must keep them healthy.

    Well she’s lucky to have you as a support. My mom is helping hold me together right now. It’s so awful, but we will figure it out. We’re creating a plan B of going to the courthouse on our original date and having a vow renewal/celebration a year later.

    Thank you so much. We’re leaning towards going to the courthouse on the original date and having a vow renewal a year out. We have too many elderly and immune compromised people we love to worry about. At least I get to worry my best friend 😊

    My wedding is 4/4/2020
    And I'm freaking out, my venue is my fiance family private property. But people are already starting to cancel coming to the wedding. Not sure what to do. Everyone is telling me I need to come up with a plan B!! How do you come up with a plan B for a wedding that you've been planning for over a year!!

    Elizabeth, were really in the same wave length here we were going to go to Greece too. I’m glad you could reschedule. I think we’re going to get married at the courthouse 5.2.20 and then a year later have a celebration/vow renewal. Also I was at a wedding in the end of February at Talamore, BEAUTIFUL!! You’ll have a great day. Thanks for your kind words. We can get through this!

    First of all, I am so sorry that we are dealing with all of this, ladies. Sending you all so many virtual hugs and love during this time. Our date was 4/18/2020 and FH and I made the heartbreaking decision to postpone our wedding today. Fortunately we were able to lock in a new date in November with our venue and most important vendors, but after 14 years of dating and a year and a half of wedding planning, postponing the wedding was devastating. I’ve cried more in the last four days than I have all year. I just had to come here to give you ladies hope, though. There is light at the end of the tunnel if you decide to postpone. I’m surprised that it’s actually starting as though a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders because we were already dealing with the heartbreak of people canceling and our grandparents and out of state wedding party members being unable to attend. One of my bridesmaids made me realize that the love and energy at our wedding is going to be that much more amazing since everyone will be happy we are finally getting married after everything! That is much better than pushing through with the April wedding and having only half of our guest list in attendance, or spending our wedding worrying about whether or not we would put any of our guests at risk. So I’m hoping this is comforting for anyone struggling to cope with having to postpone. Everything will be ok, and I wish you all the very best from the bottom of my heart. This isn’t easy, but at the end of the day, we are marrying the loves of our lives, and that will be worth it all. Smiley heart

    I am just praying that all of this commotion gets settled sooner than later. It is very sad to hear about how it is messing with a lot of couples most special days 🙏🏽 Try & Remain Positive! We’re all in this together. 🤍

    We had our wedding planned for 4/19 in Virginia, and made the tough decision today to postpone. Although we only invited 50 people we knew if we proceeded, then our guest list would be half. We are still getting married that day, and moving the celebration to July hoping that we are good to go!
    Once we decided to postpone, it was like a weight was lifted!

    We are May 4 and all of our guests are supposed to fly in! I think its GOOD that the county shut down potentially to get rid of this thing quickly so you can get on with your wedding Smiley smile

    I so agree! I’m 50, 1st marriage to re-connected grade school sweetheart. I want the bells and whistles. I don’t want to have to plan this all again.

    Thanks Camille for the kind words of support. Like you, I’ve cried pretty much the last two days. People keep saying it’ll be ok. But decisions have to be made..soon with a Matt 22nd date. My anxiety is through the roof. My fiancé is a truck driver, so he’s only been able to console me via phone. I’d have to do all new invitations by changing my date, which I’m literally working on now to send out and which I found a great deal at a local discount store. My venue is my largest expense so far-1payment left. I stand to lose $5000 just from that. I’m literally sick to my stomach today.

    Our wedding is May 30th and I’m freaking out. I know it’s 74 days for things to cool off but I’m afraid everyone will be too scared to show up or the resort will cancel. 😭
