Coronavirus=pure Panic

My wedding is 5/2/2020. My county just shut down for two weeks. I’m in a state of panic, this is not something you think you need to prepare for when wedding planning. It sure if I’m over or under freaking out here. Anyone else??

    Mine is May 2 as well. I am trying really really hard not to panic. My bachelorette was scheduled for March 27 in New Orleans - and we just canceled that - planning to do a "post bachelorette" Smiley winking As far as wedding, my invitations have already gone out, so too late to change the date. Not to mention all of the favors and little stuff that already have the date printed on it! Too late to change all of that now, without spending a ton more money. I checked with my food vendor, photographer, and venue- and all are still good to go with my wedding date. It is what it is. Just breath, and accept that some things are simply out of our control.

    My position is this - i have spent too much time, too much money, and too many hours stressing over everything else before this coronavirus to cancel or postpone my wedding. Even if the only 2 people at the wedding are me and fiance, I am getting married May 2!!

    My fiancé and I are now probably looking to having a small, immediate family-only ceremony on the planned date of May 9th and then having a celebration/party/reception later in the year when the world is back to normal. Not the most ideal situation, but it’s probably going to be the plan! Still thinking about everybody ❤️

    I came here for the same thing! Some how it's comforting to know that I'm not alone in this stress/uncertainty!! Our wedding is not until 5/24/2020 but I'm in Washington state and afraid that many of my family members and friends might not be able to come! My bridal shower and bachelorette are both in April too and a few of my girls are planning on flying in. Really hoping that they can still come and that is all settles down soon!

    Our wedding is May 24th and we are talking about possibly moving to the same thing. Not my ideal either and I'm definitely struggling to accept it. Are you still sending out your invitations as planned??

    Hey there! Umm, I’m thinking probably not on the invitations but I mean, they are already printed and ready to go 😫 We kind of just came to this decision in the last couple of days so I haven’t even thought about all the ins and outs yet!

    My day is May 9th, and I’m trying to remain calm. I keep telling myself this is something I obviously can’t control and just have to take it day by day but it’s hard trying to decide what to do. Our venue is outdoors so everybody would have space and wouldn’t be cramped together so I think we are just gonna limit our guest list and pray for the best!

    Mine is April 18th 2020 and people are already canceling. I’m sick just thinking about what to do. My venue doesn’t know if they will cancel yet. I really don’t want to push my date but I don’t think I have a choice.

    Just rescheduled my wedding was 4/18 now 3/13, anxiety was through the roof but starting to feel a lot better about my decision. My daughters have very low immune systems, and too many of my family members have underlying conditions and from what I've been seeing, looks like things will get worse they get better, I know the feeling Smiley sad

    Yes... I know it is probably a rash decision but it might be the only thing to take my mind off this right now, especially trapped at home and my work has slowed! Trying to go full steam ahead with wedding planning still but it's just hard/emotional. Glad you have a puppy to keep you happy as well Smiley laugh

    My wedding is May 30th. I’ve been crying all day yesterday as that’s when the news got the worst. Can’t return to my office until April 20th. Schools will most likely not open until after summer. My county is one of 7 (at the time I’m writing this) that is officially on lockdown. We are not to leave our house unless it’s absolutely essential. I’ve heard even hanging out with people you don’t live with is a misdemeanor. My bridal shower is now canceled and looking like my bachelorette will be too. Next.. the wedding 😞

    My bachelorette was also canceled and my 4/17 wedding was rescheduled to August. I am sorry you are going through this but know you are not alone. We are all hurting and dealing with this new life.

    So sorry to hear that! I completely understand though. I've postponed my April 4th wedding to September 19th. I wish you all the best with planning. It's so stressful, especially during these times Smiley sad

    My wedding is March 28 and we had to postpone because 80% of our guest list was traveling and even some who are local we’re nervous to attend. My issue is that my dj company is asking me to tell them if I’m going to cancel within 30 days and if I cancel or reschedule for a day they’re not available, I lose $1000 (more than half of what we paid). I can’t make this decision in 30 days. Anyone else facing a similar situation?

    Hi! Was getting married on May 2, hence the worse ‘was’. Just postponed the wedding till the fall, our venue is fully booked for the summer and they had one date in the fall so we booked it! It’s marriage, we have to make compromises. We decided we are deeply in this together and wanted to wait a little longer and celebrate with friends and family, have them witness us getting married rather than go straight to the courthouse. It’s REALLY upsetting to postpone but we have no choice but to take into consideration of our family and friends who will be attending especially our elders. Definitely a headache with reaching out to vendors/rebooking and fighting to get a refund back but it is what it is. Best of luck!!! xx

    My wedding is May 2nd also and New York is not looking good. I already had to cancel my bridal shower for this weekend. We just contacted our venue and caterer today about moving the date since May is not looking good. I haven't confirmed yet but it's looking like my spring wedding is turning into a winter wedding. I'm upset because my venue is in a beautiful rustic barn and now we would have to have the ceremony and reception inside. I am trying my best to look at the bright side of things.
