Coronavirus=pure Panic

My wedding is 5/2/2020. My county just shut down for two weeks. I’m in a state of panic, this is not something you think you need to prepare for when wedding planning. It sure if I’m over or under freaking out here. Anyone else??

I feel your pain. My area in NC was shut down until APRIL 11...THE DAY BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY...now it has been extended to MAY 15TH....THE EXACT DAY OF OUR WEDDING. I have sent out messages (tonight) to all of your guests stating that we have postponed our wedding until further notice. We have discussed with our venue about another date but are extremely hesitant to give it out at this time. We still plan on tying the knot on May 15th..it just may be in the comfort of our own home.

REMEMBER ALL OF THIS OTHER STUFF IS EXTRA... RECEPTION, FLOWER, DRESSES, MAKEUP, MUSIC, OTHER PEOPLE...JUST EXTRA.

WHAT MATTERS THE MOST AT THE END OF THE DAY IS THAT YOU AND YOUR SOON TO BE SPOUSE IS READING FROM THE SAME BOOK...ON THE SAME PAGE...ON THE SAME LINE...READING AT THE SAME PACE...YOU CAN CELEBRATE LATER.

NO THIS ISNT WHAT WE WANTED BUT AT THIS TIME GOD HAS OTHER PLANS. I AM PRAYING FOR ALL BRIDES GOING THROUGH THIS RIGHT NOW. DON'T GET DISCOURAGED. TAKE A SHOT OF SOMETHING AND RELAX!!

    WE WILL ALL BE FINE!!

    SINCERELY,

CORONA CAN GO TO HELL LOL!!

YES!!! Do I postpone or hope that everything is back to normal by 06.20.2020? I don’t know what to do. So many factors to consider in making this decision.

I’m sorry you and everyone else on here is dealing with this. My wedding was supposed to be Friday and within the past two weeks we’ve had to make so many changes with COVID-19 and our state’s restrictions. The most recent being that the wedding is now today because my brother, our now officiant, has to head back to base and the airports keep changing his flight time. My biggest advice is to be flexible and willing to change the plans. The biggest thing to remember it’s about the love between you and your partner at the end of the day and nothing else matters. Plus you can always have a reception at a later date with or without a redone ceremony.

I'm getting married a week before you. We're holding out for the next couple of weeks, but we have already started contacting our vendors to create a Plan B, which would push at least our reception back to October. Obviously we're holding on to the prayer that our original date will work, but we've slowly accepted the fact that it might not.

Question ladies, because I’m clueless! For those who’s weddings have been cancelled, but still planning on getting married and just postponing the actual ceremony, what are you doing? Our courthouse isn’t allowing non emergency situations in the courthouse, so they are not holding ceremonies currently. Do you just try and get a marriage license and have it notarized or what?

Hi! I’m also located in Montgomery County Pa! I am getting married June 12th and reached to my venue to secure a back up date just in case but they wouldn’t let me. My venue is only rescheduling April weddings as of now and said they have hope! Take it day by day and try your best to stay positive. I know it’s very hard to be positive especially when reading some comments or threads on here but you need positivity right now!

I’m panicking as well. My wedding is May 16th and our venue isn’t making any decisions until April 6th on what they are going to do. We had to cancel our Jack and Jill already.

05/03 right here and I’m stressin with you! All the little details worry me. I haven’t even been able to go a makeup tutorial or book anyone for the bridesmaids, tux for the ring bearer and so on. We called our venue and they were really understanding and put a soft hold on a date for October. We’re calling all our other vendors this week to make sure they’re available for October. Our stay at home order ends April 19th and that’s just 2 weeks before our wedding. I want our guest to celebrate with us and not feel worried being around 200 other folks. No matter what we’re getting married on our original date with our siblings and parents.

Awesome. The only ones giving any pushback on moving our wedding is the venue. As my father keeps saying 'this wedding isn't happening til next year, if I'm out (almost 2k) for the deposit then I am.' But if hillside is going to be like that, i won't be rescheduling my new date with them!! So looks like I may be searching for a new venue Smiley sad

Our is 5/17 and so far our venue has said we are able to move forward and contacted our vendors but the county clerks office is closed for who knows how long and we can’t even get a marriage license. We sent our invites weeks ago and haven’t been getting really any RSVPs which is understandable due to the state we’re all in. I’m trying to stay positive but it’s so hard to when everything is uncertain, trying to take it day by day either way we’re getting married on our day no matter what!

My wedding was supposed to be today. Our governor banned gatherings of 50 or more 2 weeks ago so we had to postpone our wedding. It sucks but I don’t want to put anyone’s health at risk. Talk to your vendors see if they can help in case you guys aren’t able to host the wedding. They should be able to accommodate you my venues for the ceremony reception and hotel we are getting ready at have let me postpone with a future date and with no cancellation fees. They have told me that many of their weddings they had planned for May June July have already been canceled and pushed for later on in the year. Hope this helps and if you’re not able to have your wedding on the day of just know that the day will come and it will be just as you imagined it.

I completely understand. My wedding was canceled due to this pandemic. It was scheduled for 04/06/2020 in Puerto Rico who will be locked down until 04/12/2020. Hopefully things will be better by the end of April. Good Luck!

Yeah we're trying to figure out a new date since our wedding was going to be in Puerto Rico. It was a devastating blow nonetheless.

Mines is the same date. I’m hoping for the best and keeping our date unless I absolutely have to change it. 80 days is long time and a short time at the same da*n time. lol

Christine I received a call today from the resort I'm having my wedding at that they are closing their doors until May 21st and asked that we reschedule later this year. We went from 43 days to 84 days away... My new wedding day is June 20, 2020. I've been in a panic all week and I certainly understand the state of emergency and why this had to be done but it heartening but I plan on trying to keep the faith. I was lucky enough for my officiant to be available on our new date and I have to renew our beach permit and make the call to the events rental but this too shall pass.

Keep the faith, we will get through this tough time.

Grace - I am a mother of the groom and our wedding date is the week before yours. This is definitely a hard decision in knowing how to prepare a plan "B". My instinct says we should be fine by the date - but I agree, we may have some timid guests decide not to show up. Our invitations were to be mailed out this past week. We decided to hold for 2 weeks and then make a decision to move forward, or reschedule for an Aug wedding date. Both bridal showers were cancelled as well as a bachelorette party for the time being. If I were you, I would lean to your option 2, but my feeling says you should be safe with option 1. Good Luck and stay Healthy!
