Coronavirus=pure Panic

My wedding is 5/2/2020. My county just shut down for two weeks. I’m in a state of panic, this is not something you think you need to prepare for when wedding planning. It sure if I’m over or under freaking out here. Anyone else??

    I would contact where you are getting married and have it postponed. This is most likely gonna extend into june. It's better to be proactive and have a plan than to just have the rug ripped from underneath you. Plan for a late fall early winter wedding. That's about all you can do right now. Stressing is going to get you nowhere tight now.

    Ours is 5/30/2020, and we’ve rebooked it. I didn’t want the topic of conversation T the wedding being COVID. Plus, i work in public health, and I don’t see this slowing down until late May/early June.

    That is great advice! To send out your concern for those affected by the virus as well as an update for possible rescheduling the wedding date and keeping your family and friends updated. Thanks, Jennifer!

    I am on standby, as my wedding is in June—waiting to see whether I will have to reschedule or not.

    Have you tried contacting your venue about rescheduling? My wedding is in July and we've already rescheduled it till next July. I keep hearing a lot of people moving theres too. They're saying this could last till August.. so better to be safe then sorry! I already contacted all my different vendors, and they're moving dates for free without you losing your deposit.

    I’ve got a re-scheduled date with my venue. It’s of course nothing that has any meaning what so ever to us. She had very little options open. But of course had Nov and DEC mostly open. Didn’t pick a winter date for a reason. I live in Ohio! So far my other vendors are all available as well. But if we couldn’t find other dates, I would’ve lost $4k ( we only have $1k left for punnet), b/c she won’t refund our money. I’m really afraid that even by August, this won’t be over. And the problem then is everyone whose already had to re-book, has taken the rest of the fall dates already. This really sucks. I don’t want to postpone things for a year, and if I have to limit people, who needs a big venue paying $5 grand.

    My original date was 5/9/20... I had to push it back by a month because of all this and I’m still not totally confident in that date. This is really screwing with all our plans and creating a lot of anxiety. Sorry you’re going through this Smiley sad

    In the same boat as you and really don't know if I have to postpone or not. I can't imagine having to move all the dates with my vendors.

    Hi my wedding is June 27! I’m feeling torn and have no idea how to handle this. Lockdown is until end of April so I want to see how May turns into and then make my
    Decision then? Any suggestions

    I'm getting married October 2020 and we decided to postpone. There is too much unknown and about 70% of our guest list is traveling from out of state. With no end in sight to this thing, and even if it does end soon the financial impact this is having on everyone we decided to marry in the court on our original date and push back the church wedding and reception to another time.

    We have the same original wedding date and the same postponed wedding date. What a coincidence! I’m sad too that everything we have says April 9th but hopefully things will be okay by July 30th.

    Hello Kay!
    Wow that is a coincidence! Are you keeping everything with the original date for your July wedding? I've been going back and forth with this but decided to keep everything because people should understand that this was the original date plus I don't want to spend more money on these things!

    Hi ladies! Best of luck to you all brides to be. My heart goes out to each and every one of you...I think everyone has to do what they feel is best for them and their guests. Me personally, I cannot wait a whole year to have my “wedding celebration with the reception and ceremony”. I feel like that is entirely too long, and I would rather cancel it all together then wait that long. We have tentatively postponed the May 30th wedding to October 31st 2020. I think it will have died down by October, but I believe there still will be various restrictions in place we will have to work around. Also- unfortunately I think this could be the first of many viruses, so who knows what 2021 will bring. I’m hoping to get married in a court house or have a very small marriage ceremony before the October postponement date and just try to make the best of things! I know this has been very hard for me, I’m sure for all brides to be out there. Thinking and praying of safety, good health, and love ❤️ for all you out there!
