Coronavirus=pure Panic

My wedding is 5/2/2020. My county just shut down for two weeks. I’m in a state of panic, this is not something you think you need to prepare for when wedding planning. It sure if I’m over or under freaking out here. Anyone else??

    Hang in there everyone! Once you and your spouse decide how to proceed, I found the verbiage helpful to communicate to your guests.(fromZola) Perhaps you can put on your website and not get a million texts from guests.

    I'm so sorry Kathryn. I am right there with you.Smiley heart We are more than likely postponing our 3/28 wedding. It's devastating. We are talking about heading to the courthouse as well and partying when this all blows over!! I don't know if this will help, but I reached out to all of my vendors today and got a pretty good response from them...feel free to use:

    "I am heartbroken to have to compose this email, however at the rate this new Coronavirus is escalating, I am trying to stay informed and be proactive. The last thing I want to do is postpone my wedding set for 3.28.20, but with some cities and counties across the nation implementing moratoriums on large gatherings and events, I’m not too sure what my options will be in two weeks.
    If this does affect _____ County and prohibits us from holding an event at our venue, do I have any options of postponing to a later date without losing out on our payments made?"
    Best of luck to you! -Michele

    I wish all the brides (and grooms) here the best of luck!! It’s an awful and stressful time. But at least we are with the love of our lives. I was devastated to cancel both the wedding and honeymoon, but will try be civilly married soon if the courthouses remain open.

    I totally understand where you coming from! My wedding is April 25th and at first I was calm about everything but now that I live in Miami and there’s nothing but chaos over here, I’m starting to panic! I’m not so worry about some of my guests not being able to make it. However I am worried if the venue is to reschedule our wedding would they have availability for another day. We just have to hope for the best and hope that things calm down by April.

    Mine is 3/21 and I’ve been stressing all week, too! Not only have I been dealing with work stress, I work at a university, but the idea of canceling or rescheduling a wedding when you’re right at the end is devastating. This is not anything anyone could have ever imagined or planned for. My venue called today and said they are prepared to continue as scheduled even with a state ban (non essential public events) of 100 people+! Also seeing day-by-day but hoping we can make it to our wedding days we’ve all been planning for. Best of luck!

    My date was March 28th as of today by advice of our venue we officially are rescheduling. It's been a hell of a emotional day but it's for the best of everyone safety of family and friends and possibility of us loose thousands of dollars for no show of people I had to have my final count in on Monday and was already getting calls to cancle there rsvp.

    Hi Hannah,
    The university chapel we booked at has not canceled our May 24 wedding yet, but did cancel all weddings through May 7 (which I think is premature, given that we don't know what the situation will be like two months from now). So, I'm not hopeful about my wedding not being canceled. Do you plan to try to find another ceremony venue? I don't know what we'll do.

    Hi Anna,

    My wedding is also scheduled for May 24, but our venue has canceled all weddings through May 7, so it's not looking promising. Our venue is booked out a year in advance, which would mean postponing an entire year. So, I don't know what we'll do. But I hope everything works out for you.

    I work for a company that provides respiratory care products and services. The information we’re getting from the CDC is this will last about 8 weeks before it improves.

    Mine is next Friday (3/20) and counties are "shutting down ". Thankfully, the hotel we are having our wedding is still in full effect and our vendors are friends/acquaintances that will still be there no matter what...

    I would contact the vendors and place where you’re having your wedding and ensure no one is or has been affected by it and has visited recently. Also if none of your family has it I would continue as planned.
