Cost of Flowers!?

Deanna, on April 13, 2017 at 11:38 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 43

What have you guys paid for REAL flowers. I'm talking roses and greenery for bouquets and a couple corsages. I know prices vary but I was quoted $1110 and I don't even have flower centerpieces (not doing flower centerpieces) just bouquets, corsages, Isle Shepard hooks (6) and some decor for the alter.

I have 4 bridesmaids, both moms and 1 grandma corsage, 8 boutonnières, flowers for the centerpieces (that I'm making) and my bouquet. 1,590 including tax. I was first quoted 1,900 so scaled some things down.

Much more expensive than I had hoped but I was ready to spend at least 1,000. It's a destination wedding so I'm afraid to wait since I don't know what stores are around there.

My flowers are not basic, though. So I'd get a second quote if I were you.

I went to Whole Foods. 3 BM bouquets, one bridal bouquet, 4 boutonnieres, 2 corsages, six 3 rose bundles/greenery (for the ceremony chairs) came out to about $530.00. We are not doing floral centerpieces. We went to Kirklands and bought 6 lanterns for our centerpieces and used coupons. We will also be giving a centerpiece to a few close family members after wedding (his mom, my mom, we're gonna keep one, one for each of my gmas, and maybe give the last one to a BM if she wants it, if not we will just keep it)

    I live in South Florida

I think bridal bouquets from a proper florist are a bit of a must but the rest can be diy or done away with. Things like corsages and throw away bouquets are just an unnecessary expense Imo. I got quoted $50 for the throw away bouquet during the bridal toss. So I would literally be just throwing away $50. Time to do away with that dumb tradition.

This heavily depends on where you are located. Check the vendor tab here, and request quotes from florist near you. Specify what your budget is. Ex: Hey, attached please see my inspo pics. I need x bouquets, x blank..... My budget is $xx. Please let me know if you can work with my budget. Thanks in advance.

I literally got like 30 quotes on here after getting about 6 non WW quotes that I was not satisfied with bc the price kept on going up (rolls eyes). I finally went today and I think we found THE Florist. They are including all I need and staying within my budget. Monday, FH is coming with me to review the contract and make a deposit (fingers crossed). Its been a long florist vendor road for us. Lol. But we are in NY where everything is pricey.

I'm having a ton of flowers and I'm paying $2500. 3 bm bouquets, my cascading bouquet, 6 boutonnières, 3 corsages, 2 huge arbor arrangements, petals for the aisle and flower girls, flowers for the chairs, flowers for the cake, and 8 center pieces plus one for the sweetheart table. If you're trying to go a cheaper route try Kroger. My cousin spent less than $500 for her flowers there.

We paid $1950, which included all of our centerpieces (10 total), ceremony flowers, bridal bouquet, toss bouquet, 4 corsages, 7 boutenierres and 7 bridesmaid bouquets. I'm in NY, got married in Long Island (NYers tend to spend more on weddings so everything is insanely expensive) and we got a steal by using our venues in house florist.

I knew I didn't want to spend a lot on flowers so I told my florist my budget and showed her my inspiration pictures. She helped me make substitutions for the expensive flowers. Apparently garden roses are double the price of regular roses.

I got my bridal bouquet, 6 BM bouquets, 1 Jr BM bouquet, and 2 corsages. My total was. $500.

I wanted a lot of greenery and roses. Here is my bouquet inspiration and she is charging $100 for it.

I found a great florist who had a business for 30 years but now works out of her home working w just a couple of brides per year because she loves it!! I think I am getting a pretty decent deal: my beautiful bouquet, MOH & bridesmaid bouquets, five boutonnieres, two mom corsages, a flower crown for our flower girl and decorated flower basket, two spray arrangements for the ceremony archway, two good sized alter arrangements, a flower bed to put place cards on (she's done these for brides and said it looks great), mini blue mason jars (decorated w twine and sea shell at the rims...I bought those on hobby lobby) with a rose and baby breath hanging over our ceremony chairs at ends of aisles, 11 tall lantern centerpieces decorated with flowers, vining and a candle inside each ( she had the lanterns already ) and a special sweetheart table arrangement. She will be using 5 short glass candle holders with pearls and floating votives all around each lantern centerpiece and our sweetheart table that she also had already! $1,580 which includes delivery and set up! Pics are the actual lanterns she has w/tall candles and the flowers she'll fill them will be same mix as BM bouquet inspo pic shown w inspo pic of my bouquet and then inspo of flower bed for place cards! : )

Let me preface with this. I EXPANDED my flower budget to $2000 and still got the side eye by my florist thinking I could afford all the stuff I wanted. Ended up going bare min.

We are doing 3 BM bouquets, 1 med bouquet for me, 4 boutonnieres, and a flower crown for flower girl. Piece for the arch, greenery garland for sweetheart table, eucalyptus greenery sprinkled on all tables, and 3 bud vases per table. Our centerpieces are half flowers half pillar candles. Total (flowers only, we bought candles) $1875.

I was quoted $785. I've got two bridesmaids, three groomsmen, my bouquet, toss bouquet, grooms bout, three Dad bouts, three mom corsages (stepparents) two gram pin on corsages and two grandpa bouts. This includes bulk flowers for my centerpieces also. It's an extra $200 if I want her to put together stuff for the altar in the church. I also live in a lower income area. So things are not as expensive.

Mine is about 1100 for my bouquet, 5 BM bouquets, 7 bouts, 2 corsages and 15 centerpieces. I'm still debating on the centerpieces though and my end up ordering flowers from Sams because they are just putting hydrangeas and a little greenery in my mason jars, which we already have. I will say that things like garlands and big pieces for arches and things were at least 100-200 extra so I cut those out.

Mine is $681 for 10 centerpieces (tax and delivery included). I was in shock when i enquired on a bouquet- $375 bride, $200 BM size, so I check at other places. Order the bouquet at Whole Foods for ~$50 (I know the exact price when i pick it up, but thats the estimate).

I made my own bouquets (3), bouts (7), and centerpieces (12) using all roses to keep it simple. They looked nice and the cost was around $250 for 300 roses. It was not worth it to me to spend more for professional bouquets that people would barely notice. You can see my DIY bouquet and my husband's bout in this picture. Does it look 100% professional? No. But I didn't care enough to pay ten times more for a florist to put together my bouquet. ETA I ordered the roses from Costco and family helped put everything together on Thursday for our Saturday evening wedding and everything looked fresh. I put the finishing touches on the bouts and hand held bouquets on Friday but centerpieces were done on Thurs.

$1,800 on 13 centerpieces, bridal bouquet, two small flower girl bouquets, 5 BM bouquets, and 5 boutonnières. That includes vase and votive rentals for the centerpieces as well, and is actually low-priced in my area.

I was upfront about my preferred budget and my florist made a proposal utilizing flowers that would work. I'm not getting anything exotic or out of season, but as someone said above there can be a big difference in prices over something as simple as the variety of roses being used. Your florist should be able to tell you where you can save if possible.
