cost of rental linens!!

denise, on April 3, 2011 at 11:15 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 11

We were having an outdoor wedding and reception and wanted to keep it less formal. I contacted local linen rentals and found that even though it was to be restaurant quality linens; they wanted one dollar per napkin and 12 dollars for the smaller table cloths (white) and 25 dollars for the larger ones for the head table. This was to RENT!!! I went online and found a site that sold me teal polyester satin tablecloths for way less than renting the white ones and teal was my wedding color. I also purchased lavender satin fabric and made chair sashes. I am now willing to sell these if anyone is in need there are pictures to show what they look like and I have 12 table cloths and 75 sashes.

You can also list them on recycledbride.com and some other sites to see if you can find a bride in need! There are a few more similar websites out there but that is the one i tend to haunt for used things for my wedding Smiley winking

    Lynley check out http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/

I think this will be the place I go with. Andddd you can always re-sell them. That's why I'm chosing to buy rather than rent.

I dont know about you guys, but Craigslist (Seattle-area) has awesome wedding stuff! People are always selling their wedding stuff and thats where we bought our black table linens (and some ivory, lavender, etc our colors) and then my mom is going to re-sell them afterwards.

@Lynley- I used linentablecloth.com They run specials periodically. I purchased from both their website and eBay store, depending on who was cheaper.

I'd shop around, depending on what you are looking for.

@Denise- this isn't really the forum for reselling stuff, since threads move so much and drop to page 2 oblivion. I'd highly recommend the weddingbee.com classifieds section or eBay. I think you'll have much better luck there.

We bought our 90 X 132 Ivory Floor Length cloths for a 6ft rectangular table from an Ebay store, Complete Wedding Supply. With shipping, they were $13.97. Allegedly, they are wrinkle and stain resistant.

We also bought linens from Bed Bath and Beyond for $4.99 a piece. While not floor length, they will suit their purpose.

This is part of why we aren't having an outdoor wedding anymore! The prices were through the roof, and we are on a VERY tight budget, I have our budget now a little under $3k.. its something like $2,880 or something.. don't remember the exact number off the top of my head. Just to rent tables and chairs and a tent.. that was over $1,000. Then they told me to have linens for all the tables.. they wanted $18 for the 6ft linens and $19 for the 8 ft linens0.. and I wanna say to have tables, chairs, linens, and a tent that was over $1,200 and at that point in time we had 200 guests!! We now have it down to 160, but we are now having a church wedding and a very minimal reception at FH's church, meaning light finger foods, cake, punch/soft drinks/water, atleast our first dance (past that will depend on what the church will allow us to do dancing wise).

Brittany that is exactly where I got them. I used the ebay site and they had the ones I got on special. Everything worked out wonderfully. They were very quick on their shipping also.
