Costa Rica vs Jamaica

I'm looking at those same options as well! I actually thought about booking through unforgettable honeymoons to get the best deal on "all-inclusive" budget friendly, airfare & honeymoon perks! For us, fitting the budget was the most important part (and traveling somewhere new)

They have a lot of options for different resorts, all price ranges, and some even include all excursions (which was a determining factor for us)

All planning is free!

As for location, we think about things like, can we drink local water/eat local food without getting sick? what time of year (hurricane season) etc & also location for tourists.

I have heard great things about both locations' and Secrets resorts! Which I know, doesn't help at all, but you can't go wrong!

Have either you or your FS been to either destination prior? Or know anyone who has? What are you looking for in your honeymoon experience? Something adventurous or more relaxing? So I've not stayed at any Sandals resort and can't speak to them, but as a country and a vacation spot, Costa Rica is amazing. When I visited, it was an incredibly enriching experience. You get a little taste of a lot of different vacations in one. I visit a cloud rain forest, the beach, and a volcano over the course of a week or so. The food there is so good, it said it was supposed to rain everyday and it did, but around 4pm, which gave us a lot of time to get up and do things and then come back for a nap by the time it started to rain. If you can go there at any time during your life, I would highly suggest it.
